Had knee replacement 2 1/2 years ago,after surgery lots of pain and swelling, notified office, accused me of wanting drugs,which is not true, went to one year appointment and still had the same pain and swelling, same response, Dr even walked me to the out door, I am not able to function as well as I did before his surgery, no reason just shrugged his shoulders and said it happens..I would not recommend him to anyone else, also will not go back to mid Michigan hospital..there are other orthopedic Dr's in Michigan and hospitals

Do NOT go to this man if you have the choice- He recently had a consult with my mother over her broken knee. He talked over and around her, was condescending throughout the entire appointment, and had incredibly callous bedside manner. He mocked my mother for asking standard questions about the procedure he proposed, and stormed out when asked to be kinder in his approach to her case. He’s a man-child who shouldn’t be working with the public if he doesn’t even know how to properly engage with his patients.

The receptionist, Kristen, made my elderly mother cry. After my mom had surgery on her knee, it became infected. It has been impossible for her to be seen by her surgeon. Instead the cruel receptionist called my mother a liar and made her cry. Very unprofessional.

AWFUL HE LEFT ME DISABLED

I fractured my shoulder and went to a med check. Dr. there took x-rays and said I needed to see an orthopedic surgeon. He said to contact Dr. Mayne. I called Dr. Mayne office and they said he did not do shoulders. They told me to contact Dr. Goethe. I contacted Dr. Goethe's office and it took two days for them to get back to me. Only to be told that since he was not the doctor on call that he did not want to see me. I could not believe what I was being told. Well, because of his rejection I contacted CMO in Mt. Pleasant, MI and they got me in right away. And the staff and orthopedic doctors were awesome.

Dr Goethe did a knee replacement for me. Everything went terrific. 2 years out and my knee is great. I am 71 years young and will go back to him if anything is needed. Highly recommend !

Dr. Goethe operated on my knees to repair a torn meniscus in both knees (2 separate incidents). He took the time to explain my options and answered all my questions. Surgery went well and the results are excellent. Dr. Goethe is personable, patient, and knows his medicene. I would definitely go to him again, if needed.

I called today just trying to get an idea of how far out his schedule is for surgery, they refused to tell me anything except that it depends on when I get in for my first visit. I said I understand that I just want to know if I were to have my visit today, which I knew was not possible, and I said if he said you need surgery, how far out is he scheduling as of today. She said she couldn’t answer but really she just is refusing to answer. I’ll find someone else thank you.

Dr. Goethe is a great doctor. He takes the time to explain your options and will let you know how long you can put off knee surgery by using other treatments. He explained i will know when the time is right and he could do the replacement then. BTW: bad patients make bad doctors.
