Dr. Jones repaired my neck in 2006. Before the surgery I didn't care if I lived I was in so much pain. He gave my life back. Forever grateful!

If you don't share his beliefs, he won't see you. Be careful how you answer the questions the staff ask when they call you about your referral

My husband went to the emergency room at Mid-Michigan with severe back pain. They told him they were going to refer him to Dr. Jones. Dr. Jones decided that he was not interested in seeing my husband and consequently due to Mid Michigan rules, they can't refer him to anyone else because Dr. Jones was the doctor on call that day. So my husband wasted a whole day in the emergency room to get absolutely nowhere. If Dr. Jones would have seen him and not been able to help him, that would be one thing, but to just refuse to even see him... not my idea of a good doctor.

Went to see Dr Jones. Could immediately tell he had a bad bedside manner. Felt like an intrusion to his day. He took 2 phone calls while in the room with me and didn't even apologize. He was rude in his responses. Didn't want to be bothered with any questions. Clearly, from the other reviews this doctor may have been good in the past but his demeanor towards patients has obviously changed. He acted like being there with patients was beneath him. And not once did I feel like a human being with value or feel respected. I've never left a review of any doctor in the past, but I can't recommended this specialist for anyone.

I was shocked to see him listed as one of the top! This man did a laminectomy without a fusion even though he knew I had scoliosis! I had 2 other neurosurgeons ask if he was a neurosurgeon at all because Jones should have known better than to do that type of surgery! My back has literally been caving in on itself every since them. When I went back to him because my disc at L3 and L4 had ruptured he sent me for an MRI and finally told me surgery would not help and I should go home and “do it like my Grandma did” well I was smart enough not to buy a 5th of tequila and just call another surgeon! I went to Mark Adam’s and he sent me to Henry Ford and U of M. Only the best of the best doctors out there will admit when they can’t and or shouldn’t do a surgery and refer you to one that can! Jones did not even do that. I was on the very edge of committing suicide because I just couldn’t handle the pain! By the time I made it to Uof M had a couple more ruptured disc as well 2 broken vertebraes. The doctor at Henry Ford minced no words and clearly said “ The reason your back is so bad is because that other doctor did a laminectomy without a fusion and he should have known you never do that on someone with scoliosis! Never go to this man ever!

All contact with Dr. Jones and his office was to the point, on time and done professionally. The scar from the laminectomy has healed nicely and it will take awhile for recovery, but it s coming along nicely. He had a 77 year old body to deal with and there were no expectations of it being 22 after the operation. My expectations have been met and so far so good.

I took a fall and ended up with a large disc extrusion. On my first visit he was adamant that he needed to go in an clean it out but wanted a thoracic spine mri first. That MRI took 3 weeks to be scheduled but came out fine. On my return visit he told me that my back is so bad that surgery wouldnt help. He told me the large fragment of disc pressing on my nerve would heal and then told me and I quote "Do it like your Grandma did because back then we didnt do back surgeries" I dont know what changed his mind or if he just thought it was to dangerous for his talent to do but he left me to just go home and live in the pain that has made me an invalid for the last several months with no hope of any relief other than drugs! I find the man to have to ZERO compassion for the pain his patients are going through.

His exact words to me were "Do it like your Grandma did because back then we didnt do back surgeries" I can only assume that Dr Jones has no more skills today than he did as an intern and my conditions is far beyond his capabilities. Rather than being professional and referring me to a surgeon with the qualifications he sent me home to continue to be the invalid I have become since injuring my back!
