Center For Tlc - Pediatric Therapy's Online Review Report Card

I would not recommend this ABA center. My son attended for several months, and when he left, it felt like he hadn’t made any meaningful progress. He has behavioral challenges, and I trusted that he would receive the support and skills he needed, but that wasn’t our experience. What concerned me the most was during a parent meeting when I was told that if my son ran into a busy street, they legally could not stop him or bring him back. As a parent, hearing that was extremely alarming and made me question whether they could provide a safe environment for children with behavioral needs. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this center to other families.

this therapy center is a life changing village of amazing individuals - both our kids attend multiple sessions a week of ABA, speech, OT, and PT for the past few years. everyone cares so deeply for the children. very neurodiversity affirming, knowledgeable, caring staff. if they have an opening - don't wait! you won't regret it. our kids have made so much progress from a few years ago to now. it's amazing. they're amazing! we joke they are great therapists for us as parents, too.

We are so thankful for the staff at TLC. The staff is incredibly kind, patient, and supportive, and they truly care about our son and his success. We’ve seen so much growth and progress, and the communication has always been wonderful. They create such a welcoming and positive environment, and we are very thankful for everything they do! I will always recommend ABA for services.

I cannot say enough “good” things about TLC!! I love our team we have for our son and the staff in the office! We would be lost without all the help!!

I am extremely disappointed with how a recent situation was handled at TLC Centers for Learning. During a visit, my son’s therapist discussed his behavior openly in the lobby area while another parent was present. This was not a private setting, and it made me very uncomfortable as a parent. Conversations regarding a child’s behavior should always be handled confidentially and in a private space. In addition, she disclosed her personal opinion about my child in that same public setting, which I felt was inappropriate and unprofessional. As a parent, I expect discretion, sensitivity, and respect when it comes to discussions about my child. I hope the center takes this feedback seriously and reinforces the importance of confidentiality and professional boundaries moving forward.

This clinic is not what it used to be. They are not equipped or properly trained to handle children with higher behavioral needs such as my son, despite presenting themselves as if they are. Our family is extremely disappointed by how services were handled and the lack of communication and professionalism we experienced. Parents should be aware that the level of support here may not match expectations. I would strongly encourage families to look carefully at other options before committing to services.

We are incredibly grateful for how smoothly our son has transitioned into this ABA center. From the very beginning, every provider he has worked with has been kind, patient, and genuinely invested in his growth. We couldn’t be more thankful for the team guiding our son toward success. You can truly see how much he adores the staff! Every morning he walks in he’s excited and happy to be there. We are beyond pleased with the progress he has made and so fortunate to be part of such a supportive and caring environment.

I want to actually write a review on Google about The Center for TLC. I enjoyed being there (from OT to Speech Therapy). I actually started at TLC since I was 7 years old (the summer of 2008) because my Mom signed me up for a summer camp through The Center for TLC (did the camp in the early afternoons). My parents would pick me up from the Macomb ISD school and drove me to TLC for summer camp. It was actually a enjoyable and energetic experience. The camp children and the adult workers (including the workers : Amanda, Tori and Nick) were amazing. They had their camp at the Gratiot between 23 and 22 Mile old TLC building. I also did Occupational and Speech Therapy at the Gratiot location for 2 years, then we got moved to the Morley & Hall Rd location. The OT and Speech Therapy workers (Ashley, Jynci, and Judy) were amazing. I actually came back to TLC for speech therapy in late summer/early fall of 2015 for a couple months and had Stephanie Morin as a speech therapist. She was great and worked with me on my stuttering. Then I heard you guys moved to the Hickey Rd location in Chesterfield. Then I came to this location in the winter of 2021 for speech therapy for a year. There was a worker also named Stefanie who worked with me on my speech/stuttering for a year. She was amazing. It was great attending The Center for TLC for the last 14 years (from the summer of 2008 through the spring of 2022). I will definitely have to visit you guys again soon. Devin Wasilewski

Therapy where they treat my son like their own. We have been coming here for over a year and my now 3 year old cries when it is time to go home, he loves his therapists so much. Everyone from the front desk to the staff is nothing short of amazing. Front desk staff are so welcoming and help with any/all questions. Speech therapy with Kristin and Brittany has changed my sons life and we could never thank them enough for all the hard work and love they give. Naomi has so much so patience and is one of our favorite occupational therapist ever. She has taught even us so much to help continue learning at home. I wish you could do a preschool program !
