He might be a good ophthalmologist, but Dr. Jarvi's communication skills leave a lot to be desired. I explained to him exactly how I wanted my cataract surgery to result in the mono vision that I've had for years with contact lenses, but he didn't listen and gave me medial vision in my left eye rather than near vision. My right eye already had fairly good distance vision before cataract surgery, but afterwards it was about the same, so now I'm back to wearing contact lenses again, just like I did before cataract surgery. He does not encourage questions and spent very little time with me explaining what to expect after surgery, so I wasn't prepared for the fogginess I had for several days afterwards. The office staff is very competent, friendly and compassionate, but I can't say the same for Dr. Jarvi.

My experience with Dr. Jarvi and his office personal was excellent. They all were extremely pleasant and professional. Dr. Jarvi replaced both cataracts and each procedure went perfect. I would highly recommend him and his entire team.

The staff was very nice and helpful. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for Dr. Jarvi. He was extremely rushed and rude. He was also incorrect regarding information pertaining to my condition and this was verified when I went to see the doctor I go to for this condition. As for his being rude, don't just take my word for it. Read the 5-star review Dr. Jarvi left himself while he was berating patient Paul M. for leaving a 1-star review. I find that to be completely inappropriate and unprofessional. This whole thing blows my mind, because Dr. Jarvi was nothing but polite and professional when I use to take my mother to her appointments. It was for that reason that I had chosen him as my ophthalmologist. Now, I'm considering changing eye doctors.

To Paul M. Sorry you had a bad experience. All of what you say is hard to address when you hide your identity and don't bring your concerns directly to me. Just about everything about an eye can be fixed to some degree or another if given the opportunity. Yes, medicine is not an exact science and you misunderstand that my "guessing" is actually an extremely good "guess" with nearly 30 years of eye surgery success too back it up. Every single doctor you go to is "using their knowledge and experience to make the best "guess" they can regarding your care. I just let you know that we are using all the most sophisticated data, exams, lab results etc to do this for your benefit. Please contact the office if you wish to address issues rather than in an open forum where you won't even list your name. Timothy S Jarvi MD

Very impressed with this office and it’s staff. Dr Jarvi very knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything about my eye condition and what should be done about it.

I had one cataract replaced and all I can see is midrange. My eye has not felt the same and it waters constantly. He might do well for you but I now have bad vision and still need glasses to correct what he did. He told me that he would have to GUESS at what to put in my eye if I was to have him re-do my lens, sorry not into guessing about my vision! Nice enough guy but so is the guy waiting on my table at a restaurant. I was later told that re-doing a cataract the danger outweighs the chance of correction.

Doctor is very scattered. And runs back and forth from one patient to the next. Always rushed and no time to really even talk about your situation. Not impressed. Sorry ??

I went to Dr. Jarvi"s Office to purchase a new frame for glasses prescribed by another optometrist. I gave the woman who waited on me the size of the bridge for my glasses. She told me that she had to place an extremely large heavy device on the bridge of my nose . This was not related to my vision. Now my nose and the bridge of my nose really hurt!! I now have a bright RED SWOLLEN spot on the right side of my nose extending from the bridge to the base of the right nostril!! Injured.

I was a returning patient after 3 years and got caught up in the Office Park Complex where Jarvi's office is located...no addresses on the bldgs, etc. Anyway I was late by 11 minutes. Appointment was for 2 PM and I arrived at 2:11. I then stood in line at the check in desk for another 6 minutes. When it was my turn I was told I was too late; office policy 10 minutes late appt. cancelled. Of course back & forth like this policy never mentioned, etc. I left. embarrassed. Will find another MD.

Very busy, but took the time to answer my questions. Technically excellent and great outcome.
