My sons ultrasound came back and found a large tumor on the outside of his kidney. Recommended to find an urologist asap. I had called around to get an him into appointment as fast as I could. I found Nelsons number and talked with his receptionist. She said he deals with masses. Called me back within 15 minutes to tell me he can see my son the next day at 7:30. When he was seen it was very quick. Just said he needs a biopsy and the office will call. The biopsy was done on 12/22/21. The surgeon he assigned to do it didn’t even come out to talk with me. Plus they forgot to take a urine sample before his biopsy. Because of it he got an infection. Nelson called in an antibiotic and said if he’s having trouble go to the ER. He went and the ER had a 12 hour wait. Trying to manage his pain, he called Nelsons office and the dr on call ordered an ultrasound stat. Nelson never even called him with his biopsy results. It came to him in his MyChart, that’s how he found out it was cancer.

Dr. Nelson removed a tumor from my kidney and SAVED my kidney. No other surgeon in Michigan or any other state was willing to do this for me!

Dr. Nelson and Lisa were very friendly. Helpful and knowledgeable. Had to wait 15 minutes, but for a specialist, like vascular, I’m used to waiting 2 hours. Highly recommend.

I have a son that is special needs , we went to dr Nelson because my son suffered from kidney stones . Dr Ryan Nelson is one of the most caring and compassionate doctors I have ever met he takes his time at every appointment, answers every question .i have never met a doctor with such wonderful bedside manners and I have met a lot of doctors , my special needs son is 31 years old we have had are share of doctors over the years .Dr. Ryan Nelson has been a god sent for my son .

My mother and I met Dr. Nelson today for a pre surgical consult for cancer found in my mothers kidney. There was a slight wait but well worth it! He was AMAZING! Personable ,caring and made us feel we will be going through this difficult time in the best care by a true professional who has knowledge and the bedside personality EVERY DOCTOR SHOULD HAVE! A TRUE LEADER IN THE MEDICAL PROFESSION! And we have yet to proceed with the surgery yet...just waiting to be scheduled....A+ Doctor
