List of Beaumont Childrens Hospital's Reviews
I've been trying to be strong enough to warn folks away from this hospital, especially if you have a rare disease, a genetic one..they had no idea of how to treat my rare disease and instead of calling in experts or even speaking to a research hospital, gave me so much of the wrong medicine it put me into complete kidney failure.,they almost killed me...then the pain Dr dropped me because he didn't understand how severe my disease is.,I went into withdrawals..I almost died from that..all because they wouldn't call the people who are experts in my genetic disease..stay far away from this hospital...I've written 2 or 3 times trying to warn them they are killing people with rare diseases with no response..I'd stay far away from here.,I'm now being cared for at a research hospital, someplace they refused to even call..stay far away! I'm the wife of Richard Betson and posting under his name.,but believe me , there are predator drs roaming the halls looking for oeople to prey on...it was the most epic display of MN edical mismanagement of someone with a rare disease.,they tried to fake it to make it with my life.,stay far away...
Been to the ER twice here in the last two years and will never go back. Complete disregard for their patients compared to other places I've been. The receptionist was rude and unprofessional. I sat in the waiting room for 6 hours before I got up and asked him for an estimate on wait time, which was apparently too interruptive to his story to his colleague. If you are unvaccinated for covid-19, you will 100% be given the run around. They'll make you wait all night while everyone coming in after you gets admitted. There seems to be an administration issue at this ER/hospital. It's unproffessional and you will receive sub-par care. This is the only place I've ever spent thousands of dollars and been treated so poorly.
Here for a minor out patient surgery and pre-operation suite and space is filthy. How dirty are the operating rooms if the room I'm waiting in is so gross?
Need to fix their automated system. The options don’t appropriately direct
Friendly staff, but it takes forever to get any room or service, and once you do get a room, another hour later they'll remember you
They lost a lot of money leading to buy-out by Spectrum . Patients now face challenge of a failing hospital bereft of staff or in house competent physicians to interact with concerned family or patients as nurses are having to do excessive work to cover for poor quality house staff and salaried hospitalist who avoid patients and their families..The emergency room failed to review portable chest x-ray result with patient and family for 3 hours despite what appeared to be a new mass . The assigned room had a phone that rang every few minutes for hours as fax attempt was being attempted to the patient room . The new subsequent room had a broken thermostat without a means to regulate to comfortable temperature . There was no floor receptionist before 11 AM or at all on a routine M-F work day . There is no way to get any information other than calling patients on their cell phones
Note: I have been to both campus Farmington Hills and Royal Oak. I thought I had metastatic breast cancer, uncontrolled induced diabetes. Anemias that have not been treated. I went in for pain in my jaw with rapid decay of teeth and exposed nerves . I have untreated bacterial infections. Since I have left the hospital yesterday I imagine that I have swelling in my stomach and abdomen, that I have trouble breathing and also coughing. Jaw pain from infection be darn. I have bigger problems. Dr,s weigh in? The ER doctors say my labs are fine. The labs say the middle of the scale is considered normal range. Am I'm imagining I am reading this wrong? My body feels bad ! Am I imagining my tumor is active and that I can't breath. What's wrong with me? Please help!
Horrible experience today. I was in there from 9:30am and walked out at 4:30pm with them only taking my vitals. I believe I had my first experience with vertigo but we will never know. It was an absolute mess with staff complaining for the 8hours I was their that they are understaffed. They forgot about me. Please don't go here
Was treated well at my initial visit on 12/17 after a violent accident that broke 9 ribs, fractured my L3 and left lacerations on my head. Came in on 1/12 for rib pain and difficulty of breathing and was made to wait for 9 hours. I had blood drawn and an X-ray taken but no one came to share those results with me. I had to share them with myself on "my chart" and google what the terms actually meant. When I went to ask for pain meds and to speak to the nurse, I was laughed at by all 4 attending nurses at the emergency station. Like they seriously laughed at me because I was in pain. Was also told "we can use discretion to treat whoever we want". I'm definitely never coming back
This is a crap ass hospital with crap ass employees. I came in with severe swelling and pain in my ankles and feet. I've been here for 24 hours and I'm yet to even get a bed. The staff is rude, they also have not made sure that I'm constantly given something for the pain. My legs and feet are supposed to elevated and they kept me in the pending results are for 8 hours with my feet not propped up. This is the worst experience I've ever had at a hospital and NO ONE should come here if they value their life.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
