Very knowledgeable and approachable !
Still waiting for a callback after at least 5 messages that were left on his voicemail.
Excellent care and he took a lot of time explaining procedure. Very good bedside manner and a very calming presence.
I saw more than one doctor initially, but my intuition told me Dr. Wasvary was the surgeon for me. I would like to think God directed me to the right place in order to address the unfortunate situation I was unexpectedly in. I’m so glad I made the decision I did. I have seen many doctors over the years, but honestly, his staff is second-to-none. Whether it’s nursing care or billing, there is empathy and time spent when you feel your worst physically, or need help with various processes or procedures. I truly feel I got more support from his office than any I’ve ever visited. Additionally, I was very apprehensive about potential adverse surgical outcomes and things that could go wrong, leaving me with a life that was not as productive after surgery. Of course, picking a surgeon is the most important part of all. I put my trust in Dr. Wasvary’s skills, and he made the outcome better than I expected was possible. This situation was the most challenging thing I have ever faced. Thank you, Dr. Wasvary! You are appreciated!
My husband went in for an initial exam. Dr Wasvary sent him to get testing at the hospital. We had to call 7 times and leave 7 messages over the course of two months to request that the doctor call us back to discuss the results to which an assistant finally called back with little to no information and just said to schedule a colonoscopy. To this day almost three months after exam still can’t get the doctor on the phone nor any additional information!! Awful!!
Dr. Wasvary does not care at all about you as a patient. He caused my worst medical experience of my life. He will give you BS statistics and offer no after care support. Told me the ambulance took me to the wrong hospital for him to help me with the emergency room bills caused by his procedure. I now have permanent damage to my neck as a result of passing out 3 times due to blood loss after his procedure in which he reported "no blood loss". His office manager Ginger will also treat you like a liar accusing me of being in a car crash. Terrible experience. History of Present Illness The patient is a 46-year-old Caucasian male with no significant past medical history aside for some chronic neck pain who presented to Ascension Macomb emergency department this morning for rectal bleeding and 3 distinct syncopal events. The patient had had a colonoscopy at another hospital 1 day before and had multiple colonic polyps removed. The patient states that he went home, and overnight had

Do NOT get banding. $500 (they bill $655 to insurance) for a tiny rubber band that stays on 20 minutes, that's just because I had a 10 minute drive home, and a 10 minute nap. The medical assistant I assume that's who she was didn't introduce herself, addressed me as, "So Hemorrhoids?" With the door open. The doctor has a girl transcribing in the room with you that just stands there and looks down, doesn't feel private. $150 to see him for an office visit. To tell you what he mentioned could help might not do anything and surgery is the next step. I was mortified being there after the experience, didn't expect to be a teaching tool to strangers, and cried in the car. So after paying $405 for something that did NOT help and stayed on for ONLY 20 mins, I could take a weekend vacation for that price, I was VERY upset. Lesson learned, don't go to a rectal doctor that's a surgeon and expect covered procedures with Covid higher insurance deductibles, avoid surgeons unless you want surgery. You would think with 85% of the population dealing with Hemorrhoids they would have further treatment options, but I guess not. And after 60 days they want to send you to collections. Billing dept is closed until after 9A.
Dr. Wasvary and his PAs Shelley and Paula were amazing throughout my husband's nearly 6-year battle with colon cancer. My husband felt very confident with Dr. Wasvary and also really liked him. I can't say enough positives about this man and his staff.
I was extremely fortunate to have had Dr. Wasvary as my surgeon for a rare appendix mass. He is not only very smart and confident, he is so kind and caring. He explains everything very well and has a very calm demeanor. His team is extraordinary, from Cyndi, his nurse navigator and John. He is very well respected by other physicians. I’m so grateful to Dr. Wasvary and his whole team! 10 stars!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
