List of MIchael Ober's Reviews
Dr. Ober is great but he needs to FIRE some of the "girls" at his front desk. They yell at the patients, are rude and demeaning. It makes me DREAD checking in or out.
Dr Ober is nice and so is his staff- in the back. However, I manage a medical office and after my last appointment with Retina Specialists, and again, being treated poorly at Check-In, I went back to my office and told the staff how thankful I am they are all so kind and professional. I have never dealt with such unkind women at a front office in Michigan, like I do at this front office every time I’ve gone in there, to myself, and each person I sat and watched check in. (And this started years ago before Covid) The front office check-in women are always rude, to the point I almost walked out last time I had an appointment. I can’t imagine that the office manager wouldn’t have any clue about her staff upfront. But as I said the doctor and the staff in the back they are nice. I will say I will be looking for a new specialist because I have gone back a couple times in the last few months with major vision problems and nothing is being answered for me and nothing further has been done for me. This is my vision we’re talking about
Doctor Uber is OK little dry humor but hes fine but the office is absolutely terrible never met so many rude women and all my life No patience for anybody and they deal with nothing but seniors for the most part very disappointing
Dr. Ober was very patient and got the metal out of my son's eye. I would totally recommend him! Dr. Ober is one of our favorite doctors!
Excellent diagnostician Warm and compassionate
Dr. Ober has treated my diabetic eye condition for about 10 years. He is a great doctor and a great surgeon. I would not be able to see if he hadn't treated me. I highly recommend him to any diabetic.
My Opthamolist referred me to Dr Ober by saying if my eye as his eye Dr Ober is who he would see! I was diagnosed with a BRVO. He got me in the next day. He has been kind, thorough and extremely competent. Everything is explained by both his staff and him before work is performed. I was scared of the shots but he calmed me down and they were short, sweet and no pain. Today I had laser treatment. I was nervous, again. It was like a light show! Staff is magnificent!
Saved my vision and I drive for a living, the best Dr. Have ever known! Thanks !
Plastic Surgery needed, stat!!! Left Eye lid muscle was damaged during a Vitrectomy. Unfortunately, my eye lids are no longer symmetrical in shape. I wear sunglasses most of the time to hide the imperfection caused by Dr Ober. And, must now have plastic surgery in an attempt to correct his error if possible.
Initially,I trusted Dr. Ober. After 2 mos. of eye drops & an eye shot, Dr.Ober advised surgery for a SUSPECTED retina detachment.I regret not getting a 2nd opinion BEFORE my surgery! A victrectomy was performed & a scleral buckle inserted, during which Dr. Ober stated my retina was NOT torn. At 4 weeks I knew something was wrong & got a 2nd opinion. My retina had torn POST-surgery,needing a 2nd surgery! I sought a more exp'd surgeon for my 2nd surgery, and have had no problems to date.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
