Dr. SOO changed my life!! After 5 years of PT, pain clinic, medication and psychotherapy I was referred by Ascension pain clinic to Dr. Soo, when I was 63. I could no longer walk thru the small , at local grocery store without having someone bring me a chair. Dr.SOO changed all that. Surgery was in 2010 in June. In Sept I was DANCING at a church festival. In December of 2010, I walked for miles in London for an incredible trip made possible by a retired pilot and his wife who had free Buddy Passes. Since Dr Soo repaired my back with his new technique, I have walked hundreds of miles through London, Amsterdam, Rome, Berlin, Auschwitz, Normandy Beach, Sicily and more! Once, a couple of years ago.I injured my back. I was so frightened! Dr Soo took an X-ray and said to me “Mrs Horton, there is NOTHING that can go wrong in YOUR back that I cannot fix!” Dr Soo’s gaze into my eyes told me he was not wrong! (My back was fine after aw week of rest) Dr. SOO is a gifted, brilliant, focused, kind man who has crafted his work as a surgeon and a healer in every way! He gave me hope a new chance at living my in a way that I will never cease to be grateful to!

This was my second spinal surgery from Dr.Soo at Ascension Hospital. Each time he was clear and concise on what needed to be done and when. Both surgeries relieved my back pain ( spinal stenosis ) and recovery was fast with no complications. I recommend Dr. Soo and his associates for spinal care and options.

Dr. Teck Soo performed a C2-C5 Laminectomy on me in 2019. He was recommended by six other doctors as one of the very top neurosurgeons. My experience bears this out. Dr. Soo’s heartfelt pre and post care made me feel like I had his full attention throughout the process and I knew I was in the hands of an exemplary, perfectionist neurosurgeon. He is also a very clear communicator who is never hurried and always precise and clear. I would refer him without any hesitation whatsoever to anyone looking for the best neurosurgeon a truly special human being who touch my life immensely.

My Husband, Michael has been a patient of Dr. Soo since 2007 when he had cervical fusion to prevent paralysis. In 2010 Dr. Soo also performed brain surgery to take care of a life threatening cyst on my husband’s hypothalamus. He also discovered that Michael had hydrocephalus and implanted a programmable shunt to regulate the level of fluid around his brain. The day before My husband was scheduled to return to work full time after a lengthy recovery period he developed a subdural hematoma, a brain bleed, and was rushed to the Providence Hospital in Southfield ER by ambulance. When Dr Soo was notified he was at the Opera on a Sunday evening with his wife. He was so concerned about Michael that he left the Opera and came directly to the ER in his tuxedo to care for him! We are so thankful that God created and gifted Dr. Teck Soo and connected us with him to provide healing for Michael. We love Dr. Soo! He is such a blessing!

Meeting with Dr. Soo is always quick and to the point. He tells you what is going on based on your procedure and your next steps for personal gains and improvement. Dr. Soo did my decompressive laminectomy and restored my ability to walk unaided. I awoke and the severe back and left leg pain I had been living with WAS GONE! Staff are personable, the hospital experience was positive. Dr. Soo is a incredibly skilled Neurosurgeon. And when he sees you post-op, he is as excited about your positive outcome as you are. He has a great bedside manner, great sense of humor and tells you exactly what he thinks based on myriad experience. Rick C.

Teck Soo is an outstanding doctor and his surgical skills far surpass his peers. He is direct and to point. Some patients may not like this approach but I find his honesty refreshing. You can rely on his advice. He leaves an incredible legacy.

Dr. Soo is very straight forward and right to the point . Which is a good thing. He performed my back surgery on June 2, 2023. I went in on July 3, 2023 for my one month check up and I am walking good and my back is straight. Dr. Soo did an great job on my back. I feel so much better. I look better.
