HORRIBLE! My husband went to the walk in clinic at Allegan General on 10/23/2020 for shingles and wanted an anti-viral which is the typical treatment for shingles and must be administered within a certain timeframe. The walk in clinic could not positively identify his shingles and shuffled him to emergency where Ernest J Buck, MD was the attending physician. He would not prescribe the anti-viral without a COVID test and chest XRAY. No symptoms of COVID or any chest issues that would warrant an xray. My husband ended up walking out because he was refusing to submit to unnecessary tests that had nothing to do with his SHINGLES. Just as we had suspected, they were just trying to get more money out of us. Dr Buck turned in his bill to our insurance in December and was paid. He turned the same bill in to our insurance in February 11 and it was denied (because it was already paid by insurance, duh!) Yesterday, February 16, 2020, we received the bill for the entire amount, that was already paid settled and paid by insurance. Why is this doctor and Allegan General so desperate for money. Do Allegan residents never check their explanation of benefits and just pay bills blindly? AG and Buck run a big medical scam in Allegan and they need to be stopped. ALLEGAN RESIDENTS CHECK YOUR EOBS and do not overpay for medical care. HORRIBLE!
