Steven Shepherd's Online Review Report Card

I have been going to see Dr. Shepherd for 6+ years now, and I think he's a great doctor. First time I went to the office he works at, which has several other doctors, I felt very comfortable. I went in with a big issue I was having as a new patient, and honestly was pretty scared about. Upon meeting me he made me feel like a human he wanted to help, he got to know me a little bit and asked about my lifestyle, job etc so he could understand better. He expressed genuine empathy in regards to my concerns and took the time to fully hear me out, engage and explain how we'd figure out what was going on with me. After that he became my primary and I'm so glad I was recommended to see him. I've been in for everything from physicals/checkups to larger issues and he always makes sure to listen to my concerns, ask appropriate question and do what is necessary to make sure I leave understanding my care plan or makes sure my concerns are addressed. He's sent me to specialists also for various things, and when providing him feedback if I had a less than desirable visit with them, he has reached out to that Dr. on my behalf to find out the disconnect, and recommended another practitioner I would be more comfortable with. I love that there are other doctors in the same practice, because if you need to come in immediately for a non-emergency, there is a good chance if he's not in/available you might get to see another doctor that will have access to your files right away. He's also a Beaumont doctor, so all my info is in MyBeaumontChart which I love. I really recommend if you need a caring profession doctor that will help you, that you visit his office. The staff is great and he really genuinely wants to make sure you leave better then when you came in.

Dr. Shepherd is a great doctor, really seems to care and explain things very well.

Dr. Shep is a good guy. Funny to. The staff is quite friendly. The office could use a bit of a make over though.

A few years ago, I injured my knee and Dr. Shepherd barely looked at my knee, did an xray and said I had a "minor sprain". Years later of crunching and my knee going out I decide to get an mri done, my knee is super shot. Blown ecl and acl ligaments, degenerated and torn median and lateral meniscus and broken off cartilage. Since Dr. Shepherd failed to diagnose my injury and wouldn't refer me for an mri I have damaged my knee way more, and my quality of life is way lower now. I will be filing a lawsuit for medical malpractice/negligence.

I've been seeing Dr. Shepherd for about 8 years. He is the most through and meticulous doctor I've ever encountered. I have 100% confidence in his assessments and advice. He also shows a genuine concern for the health of his patients.

I have been seeing Dr. Shepherd for about 20 years. I live in Alpena and still drive the 4 hours to see him. He takes time to listen, evaluate, and take the necessary steps to get me back to the feeling top notch. If he can't do it, he makes sure I go to the best specialists there are. I love seeing Dr. Shepherd because I know I'm going to get top notch care from a doc who can put two and two together. I trust Dr. Shepherd with the tough stuff, and for him to listen to me and take my fears into consideration. My whole family goes there and they love him too.

I've been a patient of Dr. Shepherd for a year. From the first moment I met him I was at ease. Before he saw me as a patient, he got to know me as a person. That may not be important to you but to me it's everything. I don't want to be a number. I want to be viewed as a human. He asked abut my life, career & other things to see how my lifestyle was. Then asked what the nurses did and dove further into my issues. Allowed me to take extra time to explain, question and how to treat on all my visits

Great all around doctor. I know if I have an issue he's there for me when I need it.

Hate Doctors, Love Sheppard!! His office is busy sometimes yes, because demand is high. Good Doctors are not everywhere! Worth the short wait!
