I originally thought that this was a great place back in January, but I found out differently this week. I made an appointment for an eye exam AFTER being cleared by the specialist Dr. Belamaric referred me to. The specialist even sent a letter updating her, which she read right in front of me at my appointment on Monday. But after my 90 second exam, she refused to provide me an updated prescription for my glasses and said my eye wasn't ready and to come back in a few weeks. I was charged for the exam, of course, because it's clear that money is what they're all about here - not actual patient care. They also said they'll have to charge me for another exam in a few weeks. I called the specialist to ask what I'm supposed to do since she wouldn't give me an updated prescription and even he was blown away. He said I need the updated prescription and there's no reason I should have been refused one. I called Southland Eye Clinic back Monday afternoon, because I'm stuck in the middle here. I spoke to Hannah, who answered the phone, and explained my situation and she said she would leave a message for Dr Belamaric to call me back. Here it is, five days later, no return call. I'm out the money I spent on the exam I didn't really receive and no new prescription. I even called back yesterday and left a message on their answering machine and still nothing. So now I have to go find another doctor and spend more money to get the eye exam I should have received at Southland Eye Clinic.

Dr. Belarmic is at the point she needs to retire. It was a waste of my time to go to her for my retina issue. I was told a retina specialist, which they have on staff, and the office would call me back for an appointment with him, however, here it is 4 months later with no return call. I've found a doctor at Kresge Eye and was able to get in right away. If I would have waited for their office ...

Dr. Belamaric did my cataract surgery 19 yrs go. Returned for a diabetic check, and everything was great. She even thanked me for returning. Very professional and kind. Recommend highly!

Dr. Marilyn Belamaric is a true professional -- a physician of the first order. Regardless of your station in life, Dr. Belamaric gives you first rate professional attention and care. I willingly put myself in her care when it comes to my eyes. I have been a patient of Dr. Belamaric's for well over twenty years. Plus, she is a very cultured individual -- one has only to look at the art work she has chosen for her offices as well as her choice of fashionable clothing. I recommend her highly.
