List of Maternal Fetal Medicine In Traverse City Munson Healthcare's Reviews
Spent the evening waiting to be seen, 4+ hours, for acute abdominal pain in the lower stomach. I'm not even sure it isn't appendicitis. Can't stand straight, sit, stretch, and certainly can't go to the bathroom, but I was not made a priority and had to wait my turn well past the order I entered and signed in. I'm an out of towner with insurance, but that didn't seem to matter either. If it was the only experience there, i would not come here if I had another choice. BUT, once I made it behind the curtin, the experience was 100% different. The staff was very attentive. I moved from one person to the next in a reasonable amount of time, tests were scheduled and given quickly, and all my questions were answered before I had to ask. Thank you for a relatively quick but enlightening ER experience
**edited to add that I was in so much pain that I asked for something to help and the nurse said she would get something and be back. I never received anything and when I told another nurse they argued that I had been given pain medicine and it was charted 10 minutes after I asked for it. Hopefully someone enjoyed it while I laid in the room crying and writhing in pain!!!!! Worst hospital ER ever!! Went because my specialist from U of M wanted me seen immediately and had me call the ambulance. I went in with level 8 pain and they sent me home with level 8 pain. Wouldn't do anything for me or figure out what exactly was going on. Didn't care at all and my emergency was serious! Really sad this used to be a great hospital...look at their review stars now 2.5!! They deserve a big fat 0!!!!!
stayed for nearly two weeks, needed to come back, did not. found the right point of contact and the right doctor was by my side the whole time, i was able to think clearly, besides gifted omega humana project under handing the ball to a man the affected once knew from this place as he saw hostile natives usually... and fell from supposed pre-planning committee COTv
I understand the greed of hospitals that they want to save space and maximize getting all the money they can, but I will never understand two person rooms. Aside from the blatant HIPPA violations that every doctors office and hospital preaches about this is NOT a conducive environment for patients to heal, rest and get better in and not to mention the lack of privacy. And it's absolutely not ideal for family members and patients to talk, cry or grieve in. It's atrocious and uncomfortable and I've never been so upset about something. This is not a safe space to heal in. Also not sure how this is within your Covid protocols either. We should probably be taking better care of at risk patients. I know everything about the patient in the next bed. His birthdate, the medical procedure he had, how high his fever was after the surgery, the spinal fluid that was leaking out of his neck after his surgery. His pain level throughout the day, his grandkids names, where he lives, his medical wishes. Should I go on?! And I'm sure him and his wife know everything about my family because the curtain in between isn't blocking anything. Two patient rooms should NOT be allowed. It's absolutely absurd and ridiculous. Having a patient that needs a minimal stimulation room and putting them in a 2 patient room with other people talking and watching television isn't helping and contributing to the minimal stimulation it's heightening it and making things worse. I hate this for me and my loved ones and our "bunk mates" in this room. Munson Medical Center do better for your patients. PS - the roommates pain level just went up to a 7 and his having some cramping in his abdomen from his lunch. Just thought I'd let you know Munson!
Don't bother coming to this hospital you have a better chance going to a back alley doctor to get better care.
The billing department is horrible Everyone has a different answer. The people that call you don't have the authority to make payment arrangements. They are suing patients for money they don't have,. In my case exacerbating my autoimmune disease and ultimately leading to my needed MORE medical care.... And around and around we go
The worst most incompetent hospital in the country, my wife is almost paralyzed and in horrible pain and has been sitting in a plastic wheelchair for 5 hours and no one gives a shit, shame on you Munson, you provide horrible service, terrible health care and the people who work there are cold unapologetic, obtuse morons. negative 5 stars rating.
I would give them a zero if I could, had the worst experience there. My husband was run over by a car in louisville ky in august. It was severe, he had broken his neck, his back, had a steal rod put in his leg, shattered all if his left ribs that had to be plated, had a severe head injury skull fracture, plus a multitude of other fractures and injurys. He'd spent a week in University of Louisville and the day he got out we automatically moved back up to northern Michigan to get help from family. On our way back my husband had some concerning lung pain and some other issues so we went to ER as soon as we got into TC. They wanted to keep him in over night, I explained to the nurse that he had head trauma and needed to be watched because in his sleep because he'd try and take his neck brace off and get up and walk. Fast forward to the morning, I get a call from my husband clearly upset. They had LEFT him in is room all night, no pain medicine, his call light didn't work, no one checked on him once. He had filled his urinal and had to urinate so bad that he got up on his broken leg/ back/ hip to get the other urinal that was on the counter. The worst part is that when I called the nurse on the way there upset, the only thing she would say was it wasn't her fault, it was the night nurse. And when I threatened to get a lawyer (mind you I did not didn't swear or yell or anything) she threatened to have security stop me from coming in. Then, she not once came in to talk to me, she had her assistant talk to us about everything (including arguing to get pain meds). This place is a joke, and the nurses (I dealt with at least ) do not care one bit!
Not happy about their one person per day visitor policy. Not "one person at a time" but "one person per day". Ridiculous really. Drove all the way from Alabama to see my mom and it was either me or my dad allowed to see her for that day. Most of the other nurses, employees, drs, were pleasant and helpful but that one person rule is ridiculously idiotic. Try using some common sense and empathy with your rules. Just think, if my mom would have died in surgery I never would have seen her because of that rule.
Horrible wait times of over 5 hours for very sick people. I understand you are busy but please tell patients when they get there that the wait is 5 hours or longer!!! We waited so long we called around to other area hospitals and left to get care at another location. It's not an ER when you're waiting that long. Staff the hospital appropriately or you are going to lose trust by the community.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
