John Millett Md's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Millett is the reason why people hate going to the doctor. He told me I could get better from my depression if I found religion or volunteered more. When I started to cry and explained to him that I was a social worker, he took my hand and said, "Don't worry I'm on your side. I used to be depressed too but I got better and I think I'm a pretty good doctor." News flash. You're not. He charged me for an "Emotional outburst," which I would not have known if I couldn't have looked up the code on my bill. He will gaslight your mental health while somehow managing to pat himself on the back. The lack of self-awareness if honestly impressive. Maybe if he just volunteers more.

Dr. Millet provided the worst case scenario in every visit. For starters he was always running at least a half hour late and didn’t seem to care or listen to my concerns! The staff couldn’t do anything without his micromanaging approval. It took me 3 long years (my fault) to move forward. Now I’m happy and so should you be with your Doctor!

No bedside manor. Said I had a heart attack on Friday afternoon and wanted me to see a heart doctor next week. No other explanation, end of appointment. Well mind racing over the weekend, blood pressure soared, started having chest pain Ended up at emergency and an overnight hospital stay. Didn't have a heart attack, arteries were clear. Obviously didn't check my records as I have left bundle branch blockage. A symptom I have had for a long time. $17,000 later. The heart doctor said that I may need a pacemaker later in life. But on the positive side, years later I did have a pacemaker put in. Plus he would only talk to you about one problem at a time. No, you need to make another appointment for anything else. If you are late for an appointment, next time it will be $50. But if they are 30 minutes late it's oh we are running late They always overbook. It's all about the money.

I have epiploic appendagitis, lasting 4 times longer than it's supposed to and I was completely shrugged off. He didn't seem to care much at all, and I got the sense he just wanted to go on his lunch break. No referral to a specialist even though I can hardly move and been in the ER twice. Nothing except being very particular about me going back to him. Very uncomfortable.

I was not happy with this doctor. I have been on the same meds for 10 plus years that work for me. From the first visit his goal was to ignore my past medical history and make me come for office visits every month before he would fill my scripts. These meds by the way are medications that most other doctors offers 3 refills at a time. he would not. It is my opinion that this doctor make a habit of collecting as much money as he can from you rather than focus on your health.

Very, hands-off approach to care. Doesn't listen to patients needs. Continually pushing medications that you are opposed to all the while "holding your current prescriptions as hostage", insisting on monthly visits where the cycle repeats. Very disappointing to know that you aren't being listed to. In fact, I was actually told in order to create a smooth handover from one physician (I recently moved to the state) to another physician without "bumps". I needed to "play the game". Dr Millett has a very off handed way of talking down to patients. He is more interested in his check list of annual procedures to be done than listening to why you are in the office.

Dr. Millett is great, but the staff at West Michigan Family Medicine leaves A LOT to be desired. The phone hours are inconvenient, the staff, particularly Jack, are especially rude when trying to schedule or requesting a prescription refill. After you get past the staff and actually into the office to meet with Dr. Millett, everything is great. He listens to concerns, provides honest feedback and advice, and I've never felt that he put drug reps/companies ahead of my needs.

He is really good doctor , he helped me a lot with my cholesterol and diabetes thank you so much Dr John B Millett.
