List of Safiul Hasan's Reviews
Wait time- 45 min. Hassan- Appalling. Utterly disappointed by the lack of knowledge of basic GI information, which obviously is concerning for a Gastroenterologis. Although he had my new patient chart directly in front of him, he proceeded to get my age wrong by 10 years, asked multiple times if I had had a colonoscopy (and when told it was at UofM) his response was- “UofM?!? What, were you DYING?!?”, then laughed at his own “joke”…claimed that there was no test for SIBO, when there are, in fact, TWO (information easily obtained on any SIBO website). Did not offer to run a SINGLE test on me, not ONE, kept implying I was too young to have any serious GI issues (I’m 31, had them since I was born)…and the MOST concerning comment- “everything you’re saying to me is going over my head”…DIRECT QUOTE. That response came after discussing BASIC GI diets and procedures. Also, “people come to me to fix their problems, but I cannot do this”???? To be honest, I truly cannot fathom how this “doctor” received his medical license! He should be reported for MULTIPLE offenses against patients, he is a DANGER to people’s health!
I will never go to Dr. Hasan again! This is absolutely the worst gastroenterologist I've ever treated with, period! The only reason I ever went to him is because, he was my Dads doctor 15 years ago. An back then he was with St. Joes and, it seemed like he knew what he was doing. Since that time I've been seen by Dr. Hasan more than a couple of times, and in those times. I have always experienced some kind of physical trauma from his botched procedures. For example, great nausea, and sick to my stomach, an dryness in my throat. Just after an upper GI scope procedure. A couple of years ago Dr. Hasan did a colonoscopy, and I suffered inflamed bowel symptoms for months. I thought it would never get better, and I had to take medication to relieve the pain and inflammation for months. Now today, I'm suffering from another upper GI procedure from Dr. Hasan. Except this time he scared the back of my throat, while trying to insert his scope down my throat. I didn't notice this when I first woke up, from anesthesia, but later it started getting soar and worse. To where it started to make me gag and I couldn't do anything but suffer from it. This was done in the middle of march, and I'm still suffering from it here in April. Dr. Hasan is a "F-ING HACK", and I will never go back to him again, I will never have this type of procedure again, because of this effect, It is very unprofessional at his office, and his staff are rude and carless, an those are their good points!!! I will be looking for an Attorney to resolve it further. Treat with this "HACK" at your own risk!!!! But don't say I didn't warn you!!!
Requested an appt..Was brought in a couple days colonoscopy done a few days later..I really liked him and the staff was fine..The Waterford Surgical Center downstairs from his office was wonderful..He has great bedside manner and I would def go back. Office staff always turn over so if it was bad for you at a time I would try again. April 2022
Dr. Hassan has completed 2 scopes for me, for which I am grateful. However, during my most recent bout with GERD, I went in for my consult following my scope, felt undervalued and disrespected. I had questions, wanted some direction, understanding regarding the cause of this reoccurring issue. He replied "like the old saying goes, sometimes %$# happens". I don't think he meant any harm by his comment, however as a patient who's losing sleep and battling this GERD; I wanted a more thorough consult. I came to the conclusion that doctor's are human...but sometimes at our expense as patients. Honestly, I think Dr. Hassan has probably helped numerous people during his tenure, but his demeanor gives the presumption that he no longer wants to be bothered, but isn't ready to retire. I think retirement might be a good consideration if he's no longer capable of helping his patients. I'm a person, not a machine. I deserve dignity. I've found another doctor who can hopefully help me. God bless.
I am appalled at the lack of professionalism by the staff, & the lack of concern from Dr. Hasan himself. I’ve been to numerous doctors over the years, and never have I been treated so poorly, rudely, and neglectful. I will never return, I hate to leave such a bad review. This is your health, and you need to know what you’re dealing with.
This place is trash, the staff is TRASH! idk how they have a license. Very unprofessional, VERY rude; no wonder St. John’s cut them off…will never come back here again nor will any of my family. Don’t ever Settle for a BS dr office
he is being reported as we speak by me for medicaide fraud he lied told me and my brother all looked good, but the problem is my pcp sold him down the river said he never did the colonoscopy then, he tryed to bill me send it back then my insurance company tried to bill then they wrecked my credit score trying to find a attorney to sue him currently
The worst doctor I've ever met in my life, rude and does not listen nor care about you. In and out kind of a guy he has no business being a doctor. I'll never see him again.
I went to this office today and waited 20 min when i went to the back office the assistant asked if i was still taking a list of drugs.i told her that i had never taken them. I looked at the chart she had and it was for a 69 year old . Im 49 if a person in this field can't get this right good luck with everything else going right. Of course I ran out
Office staff couldn’t tell me crossroads. Doctor was condescending and couldn’t meet my emergency needs for a scope. I don’t recommend.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
