Melissa C. Fischer's Online Review Report Card

Honestly, all of Michigan Institute of Urology is awful. The receptionists don't speak up and seem like they're 12 years old and clueless, especially on the phone. The nurses seem like they were just thrown to the wolves and every single one is beyond unfriendly. But my biggest complaint is Dr. Melissa Fischer. This woman deserves -50 stars. She is the worst doctor and does not deserve to practice medicine. Her end goal should be to help people in pain and distress. She instead made me feel invalid, she didn't listen to a single thing I expressed about the amount of pain I was (and still am) in, I had to schedule and emergency appointment because of how bad the pain got for me and she said verbatim "you do realize this isn't your scheduled appointment, correct?", and my favorite part of the appointment was while I was talking, she got up mid sentence and left the room and told me "turn right out of here to leave" 5 minutes into us meeting. She also prescribed a medication to me that is severe and makes you hallucinate yet never said one single thing to me about it. I then proceeded to walk out of the office with tears in my eyes only to see her and the horrible nurses talking badly about me. Please never go see her. Patients need someone they can trust and someone who makes them comfortable during times where they're in pain and are miserable. This woman made my symptoms worse just by her speaking. Someone take this woman's license away. I can do the job better.

I saw Dr. Fischer in March of 2022. I had a wonderful experience with her pre-surgery, surgery and post-surgery. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Fischer is a thoughtful, sympathetic, wonderful physician. I would recommend seeing her for all of your urologic needs!

My visit with Dr. Fischer was pleasant, nothing like some of the reviews that I have read. I know people generally leave reviews when they are upset about something, so I wanted to take the time to leave a positive review.

Horrible person and doctor.  She removed a stent from my wife in an office visit. She pulled it out and said "you have a child!".  I was in shock, what a vial woman. We sat in a room discussing surgery and when I couldn't understand what she was referring to and asked several questions, she stood up and walked out. From outside the room she says "you can go home". PSYCHO.   Complete and utter PSYCHO.   I wouldn't put my life in her hands. She's not stable.

I would like to give Dr. Fisher more than five stars. She is thorough, tops in her field and kind. She is focused on me, giving me the option to choose which treatment is right for me. A great physician!!

I was in the hospital with kidney stones when I was visited by dr. fischer. She never entered the room and seemed very arrogant and distant. I asked her a few questions regarding the medical procedure they wanted to perform and suddenly she turned around and left without answering my questions. I had the procedure done the following day by another doctor who had no issues entering my room and answering all my questions.

I was admitted to the hospital with kidney stones and was visited by dr.fischer. I had no previous experiences with her so I decided to ask her a few questions regarding my diagnosis and the procedure they wanted to perform. She never entered the room and during the 2 minute conversation she suddenly turned around and left without answering my questions. The medical procedure was done the next day by another Doctor who had no problem entering my room to stand by my bedside and answer ALL my questions.

I was referred for a condition. She said she had never heard of any such thing. A med student had to look it up online. Upon follow up in a couple of months, she still hadn’t updated her knowledge. Other problems: rude, dismissive, does not answer questions or counsel. Please read discharge notes as it lists visit details never delivered.

I would recommend Dr Fischer to my family and friends. She’s performed two surgeries on me and explained everything to me beforehand.
