I am celebrating 1 year post op from my colon surgery with Dr. Shanker. She robotically removed a section of my colon, in a 5 hour surgery. Her confidence and talent were reassuring as was her patient care. My recovery was uneventful and swift, within 2 weeks I was feeling great. I would highly recommend her.

I am so glad I had my procedure done with doctor Shanker ! From what I can remember in the operating room she and her team took great care of me despite having major anxiety . I woke up happy and taken care of and made sure to continually thank anyone in my room when I woke up. I had an awful experience with a Beaumont surgeon that caused so much unneeded anxiety. Even though I’m not completely healed , I can visibly see that her work is amazing. THANK YOU Dr. Shanker , you are amazing at what you do , and I am so glad that I didn’t follow through with my original surgeon that was planned.

One of the absolute best! I was recently in the emergency room for pain (coordinated with my Dr.) and was taken in for surgery on a relatively urgent basis. Dr. Shanker was more than outgoing in understanding my pain, along with being nervous of surgery. One of the most caring individuals I've had the pleasure of working with, she calmly explained what would happen and we actually spoke on the phone a couple of days after the procedure to answer a couple of follow-up questions! While you never wish to have to see a surgeon, you'll be really fortunate to work with Dr. Shanker. From my experience, she very clearly gives up a lot of hours in her day, every day, to make sure her patients are well cared for and doing well. THANK YOU Dr. Shanker! Anyone in need is fortunate to have such an informative, knowledgeable, and kind person to work with!

A personal thank you to Dr. Shanker for her expertise and experience in her specialty in colon surgery. Thank you for comforting my family in preparation for my brothers surgery. Thank you for diligently taking your time during surgery that took nearly more than 7 hours. Dr. Shanker is an excellent surgeon and cares and takes time with her patients. She answers all your questions and is very knowledgeable. Her office staff is very friendly. Whenever I had any questions or concerns, they always made sure I was taken care of. I would highly recommend Dr. Shanker, she is amazing!

Dr. Shanker is a very knowledgeable surgeon that is genuinely concerned with her patients health and well-being. She is very pleasant and personable with a great bedside manner and was willing to spend adequate time with me to answer all of my questions. I am very pleased with the treatment I received from Dr. Shanker and I would highly recommend her.
