Great guy. He listens to you and will do more than enough testing to try to figure out what is wrong. Highly recommend.
I had colon surgery in 2017. A section of colon removed and the infected colon was also fused to my blatter. Difficult surgery. Dr. Eggenberger and his surgery staff (plus students) did an excellent job. I have had zero issues since. No bladder bag or side effects. Also I live in Macomb County and was referred by a local surgeon that didn't have the confidence in preforming this difficult surgery so Dr. Eggenberger is well known across the state as a great surgeon. Thank you Dr. Eggenberger for the excellent professional service and saving my life!!
I had emergency surgery for a midgut volvulus done by Dr Eggenberger. I was very nervous because my prior 2 GI surgeries were done there by a different surgeon who retired. Dr. Eggenberger was absolutely wonderful and I am a very complicated case. The hard part was dealing with the fellows and residents when he was on vacation or away. They at one point sent in psych thinking I had an eating disorder when I actually have a rare disease, Chronic Intestinal Pseudo Obstruction that causes extremely slow motility and signs and symptoms of an intestinal blockage. Since they had never seen that illness before they jumped to the conclusion that I must not want to eat. Even with procedures like barium follow through series that showed how slow my motility was and with CT imaging documenting dilated bowel loops with air fluid levels. If I ever need surgery again, which I hope I never do, I'd go back to Dr Eggenberger. He is very experienced and had knowledge of motility disorders and the wisdom that comes with experience.
I have know Dr Eggenberger since 1996. He is always been caring, did go through a time at St Joes when he was two busy to see me. But since that he has been right there when you need him. I would recommend his to my family member
Dr eggenberger, saved my life. He was patient and kind. I came to him at my worst and he helped me get back to the real me. I've been his patient for over 6 years and he still takes care of me like with nothing but kindness. He is truly a blessing and it is very rare to find a dr that brings you back to life. A million thank you's would never be enough!!
Beware of this man. He makes poor decisions and uses poor judgment. He did an outpatient surgery on my mother and 3 days later she was in the hospital in sepsis. She was on IV antibiotics for 6 weeks and was in the hospital twice and in 2 different rehab facilities for 2 months. He admitted he used poor judgement and made the wrong decision in how he closed up her wound and did not leave it open to heal from the inside out. 10 months later she is still suffering pain and the wound is still open. This has made her pretty much disabled and she has to have 24/7 care. This man has ruined my mother’s quality of life for the duration of her life.

The place is clean & professional. The Doctor himself is very nice, calm & listens to your concerns carefull!. He also offers several recommendations to resolve your medical issue!
Dr. E is awesome! Short wait, even for a new patient, doc and staff all had a caring disposition. Dr. E took the time to discuss my condition, all of my options and also was informative and helpful with the forthcoming insurance process. The doc is gentle and does a phenomenal job of making you comfortable. So far after first visit, i would highly recommend.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
