List of Trinity Health Iha Medical Group, Primary Care - Arbor Park's Reviews
For anyone thinking about going through this Trinity Health location for a primary physician I strongly recommend going to U of M or somewhere else. I had 2 primary physicians here over the course of 5 years. Dr. Charis Hill (who is no longer there) and Dr. Ross Schmaeman who is still practicing there. I had a history of thyroid issues in my family and when I brought this issue up with both doctors along with a small lump in my throat, they both said it was nothing and dismissed my concerns. Especially with Dr. Schmaeman who only seemed concerned with me losing weight and not drinking protein shakes. That’s all he ever asked about and cared about. For reference I was 6ft and weighed 275. Not a crazy amount of weight for someone who had been playing high school sports three years beforehand. Last year he tells me at a check up and examination “oh how long has that lump been there?” I said I’ve told you about it before along with my family history at two previous check ups over the last two years. Because of Dr. Schmaeman and his dismissiveness for my concerns, this resulted in thyroid cancer going undiagnosed for 2 years. Because of his negligence the cancer was found to have grown resulting in a 10 hour surgery, extreme complications afterwards where I needed to be hospitalized for a week and a half, and a severe decline in my mental and physical health with this possibly affecting the rest of life negatively. Also when Dr. Schmaeman called me with my biopsy results confirming it was cancer, he was still completely dismissive and never even said he was sorry for me and my diagnosis as I sobbed on the phone. He only said and I quote “It’s just bad luck. I will have a nurse call you about next steps.” Taking legal action may be the only way for me to actually be heard but hopefully others can read and learn from my review. Do not come here, please learn from my experience and go somewhere else where you are heard and listened to. My 1 star goes to the nurses and patient care technicians there. They have all been nothing but amazing and kind whenever I was there or scheduling appointments. To Dr. Schmaeman: Please learn from my experience with you as a Primary Physician and listen to your patients. Your negligence has ruined so many parts of my life. You need to know that and again, DO NOT DISMISS YOUR PATIENTS’ CONCERNS FOR THEIR HEALTH OR NEGLECT TO DO YOUR JOB.
Wonderful, welcoming atmosphere. Caring personnel here.
Literally waited over an hour just to be seen for a medication refill
I am transferring my care to another office. I feel like all they want to do is bill my insurance. I never feel like I am free to speak about my concerns without getting extra charges to my bill. The providers don’t seem like they really want to help anyone. Good luck asking any questions over their MyChart system. They won’t answer any questions and tell you to make an appointment. Why even encourage people to use the app if they won’t help you? I feel like they don’t care about you.
I came here in 2004, when my physician (at the time) was Dr. Chen, and at the time it was IHA @ Hogback. He was (and still is) a good doctor, but years later, before moving to the Clark Office, my current primary care physician is: Dr. Kusiak, and I always enjoy have her, ever since, yet, she more than just a physician, but she also dedicates herself to humor and devotion with me, as she hears so much about my own family, who always looks after my health. When she's either busy (with other patients), out of town or has prior commitments, I usually go see Dr. Dyksterhouse (as of early this year) and he too is a very humourous physician, but is the opposite of Kusiak. I've been not only a big asset to these physicians, whom I see them, as my family, they are now my friends, as I'm part of the Trinity Health group.
Lazy, condescending, rude, always late, and won't do their job unless you keep riding them. Shining example of American healthcare: all they care about is money.
At this point a lawyers involved. Shady billing practices. Reports are being made to the state- stay away from this place.
I’m in and out on time, have good doctors, and feel heard in appointments.
Dr. Breakey whom is now retired made this place worthwhile. Myself and my son had been with him for over twenty years. He literally would make phone calls, yes a Dr. that returns calls. Now it's a clown show.
I saw Dr. Katial and it was a horrible experience. I was made to wait 40 minutes for my appointment. During the appointment she belittled me and made me feel like my problems did not matter. Every time I brought up a concern she had little compassion or understanding. However she was more than happy to suggest all my problems were due to depression or anxiety and write me a prescription for an antidepressant. If you go to this doctor's office avoid Dr. Katial

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
