List of Ypsilanti Health Center's Reviews
I have been going to the Ypsilanti Health Center for 5 years now, and can say that every Receptionist, Nurse & Doctor I have seen have been excellent. I want to give a particular shout out to Nicole Rockey, Pharmacist, who has helped me with CHRONIC CARE MANAGEMENT for my high blood pressure; Kartik Sidhar, MD, sports medicine, who has been fantastic helping me with a recent leg injury; and Laura Emily Ann Heinrich, MD, my primary care Doctor. If you are looking for a place for outstanding medical and compassionate care, I highly recommend.
The contact center or the people answering the phones for dermatology are a complete joke. A lady name Kim was very rude and did not listen to my concerns. I'm waiting to hear from her manager Erika so I can inform her of how rude her staff is! I though U of M would provide some outstanding service, boy was I wrong! This is the second time I experienced some rude employee! I will take my daughter elsewhere.
I had an appointment with Dr. Kristie Khatibi and waited for almost 2 hours; I didn’t even get to see her and left after 2 hours. Dr. Jean Wong called me back immediately and devoted her time to meet with me.
This place TRULY defeats the purpose of having a primary care doctor. I think it’s the case across all the Michigan Medicine Primary Care clinics — it’s not the Ypsilanti doctors’ fault — but good luck getting an appointment less than 3 months in advance. I’ve been a patient of the practice for almost a year and I’ve still never been able to see my or any primary care doctor in person. When I moved to MI in august I tried to set up an new patient appointment with a PCP in-network for my UMich insurance, because I needed/need prescriptions for (daily, maintenance) medication. The soonest appointment Michigan Medicine would give me was October, at Ypsilanti health (I live in Ann Arbor, not exactly convenient). No willingness to accommodate the fact that I need a doctor, and prescriber, sooner. Then in October they call me to say they have to reschedule my in person appointment to a virtual one in November! What choice do I have. The doctor is lovely, and at last got me the prescriptions I needed, but can hardly do an annual physical or anything remotely. When my prescriptions run out in the new year I try to schedule another appointment, thinking I could get in more quickly as an existing patient this time. Wrong. I had to settle for another virtual visit weeks later with a completely different doctor. In that appointment I also mention that I’d developed a sinus infection I was concerned about. I was told I’d need to make a separate appointment to get medication for that, which I couldn’t do because I was leaving on a long trip outside the US. When I get back to MI, I’m still sick with a then month-long long sinus infection and called to try to get an appointment, after messaging the previous doctor I’d seen to say I was still sick with the exact same thing/nothing new, and needed augmentin. Nope that requires an $25 appointment, they say, and the soonest appointment they would offer me was for another 3 weeks later🤯 I finally wore them down to…you guessed… a virtual appointment 4 days later with YET ANOTHER random doctor who wasn’t my PCP (in name only apparently…) They offer me a time that cuts into the last 15min of a big job interview I then had to cut short, because the scheduler says the doctor can’t even do 10min later than the time offered. Then, the cherry on top is that after all that, the doctor is 20min late to my Zoom appointment, and then immediately prescribes me augmentin and the appointment was over in 2min that cost me $25 and insane inconvenience. You guys, I can’t even. (btw good luck making appointments online unless you have COVID or want a mammogram?? So random)
Martha at the call center has no biz working there, making a in-person complaint,at main hospital this morning. The non doctors have never ever done what they say, this little program should be shut down. Losers
While I cannot say enough about the office manager here, who took the time to listen to my concerns and find me a doctor who would actually help me. The doctor however, Noura Nachawi, was horrible. In less than five minutes with me I could tell by her body language she wasn’t listening to me. She completely neglected to look at my blood work and previous diagnosis. She told me nothing was wrong with me, “I was just fat” and continued to tell me I needed to eat less than 1200 calories and take a diet pill. While yes, I am a few pounds larger than usual (which is a side effect of the untreated disease) I am by no means over weight. I run marathons and weight train on the regular. The office manager referred me to another doctor in Grand Rapids who listened to me, found the root cause of my problem, and got me the treatment I needed. If you need an endocrinologist, the drive to Grand Rapids is worth it. Avoid this place at all cost.
Whatever who answer the phone doesn’t deserve one star. One transfered the call without asking me why I’m calling them and the other complained she can’t hear me ( after she replied me) and hanged up the call.
The paediatric desk people are soo rude. I’m going to be changing doctors at this point .
I come here often for my sons ear infections and they go above and beyond every time. Everyone is so nice and helpful. I highly recommend this place!
My experience dealing with a rude women in the Blood Draw Station on the first floor and a rude receptionist who called me a name under her breath (unprovoked) had me reporting the unprofessional behavior. The next time I went, the receptionist was gone and another rude woman drawing blood had an attitude in defense of her friend whom I had reported. SMH

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
