I got into room right on time and assistant was very professional. Dr. came in soon and discussed situation and then gave me my knee injections and we then talked further about my knees. I was very pleased with total visit.

When I brought my concern about my shoulder to Miss Emily Monroe, MD., She listened to my symptoms and helped me pinpoint the problem which turned out to be that I tore my rotator cuff by way of dye and a ct scan since I am not MRI compatible. She quickly added me to her surgery schedule to repair my shoulder as soon as she could. I was referred to physical therapy after the 6wk post surgery and I was improving at a steady pace when I fell exactly 60 days after the first surgery so I had to start completely over because I re-tore it so the 6 months time to heal had to start completely over. She had me restart physical therapy at a slower pace because this time we need to be careful to not dislodge the anchors and because I have a lower rate of recovery. So instead of having a 100% chance of full recovery with 100% range of motion and capabilities of the original tendon I now have an 80% chance of 100% recovery but have been frankly told that I will probably have a limitation of less than 100% because of the damage the 2nd time around which is fine with me as long as I can brush my own hair and put it into a ponytail. Beyond that I'm fine with whatever limitations that'll be at the end.

Very competent doctor In my opinion. Everything went well. This was my 4th surgery with Heartland and I would highly recommend them. They have done both my knees, neck fusion and now my hip.
