Dr Vandersteen is hands down the best pediatric urologist. We met him when our child required emergency surgery and he was a true gift from God. He is kind, gentle, so knowledgeable and I thank God everyday for him saving my child. If you find your paths crossing with this doctor, rest assured you’ve found a great one.

My son was scheduled for a Telehealth visit with Dr. Vandersteen, and I was a little nervous for how a Telehealth visit was going to go with my 3.5 month old. The appointment could not have gone better! We had great communication with the staff before the visit, and the actual technology behind the visit was very simple and easy to use. Dr. Vandersteen got onto the call and was so great. He made us feel like we were in the clinic with him, making the Telehealth visit so comfortable. We were able to communicate our questions and Dr. Vandersteen explained everything in great detail. He was still able to perform a thorough physical exam by walking my husband and I through what he needed us to do. Overall, it was a great experience and we are so thankful to Dr. Vandersteen and his staff for continuing to see patients during this time! We would highly recommend Dr. Vandersteen!!

Treated our son since birth for kidney reflux. He’s the most amazing Doctor. Also very personable and good sense of humor. As good as it gets. 100% recommend.

From the moment he walked into that exam room and proclaimed my daughter a miracle he wowed us! 6.5 hours of surgery and later 3 ER visits he made the effort to see us in between other surgeries, we are still wowed. He took into account our daughter’s current mental health issues and got her to the hospital that would focus on her current needs and not stigmatize her further. He is amazing and so are his nurses.

Although I'm relieved that our 2yo's kidney reflux seems to be resolving on its own, I will greatly miss Dr. Vandersteen. He has an amazing bedside manner and is incredibly knowledgeable. I only wish we could have him as our pediatrician!

Dr. Vandersteen is not only meticulous in his care and diagnosis, he cares about his patients. They are more than a bladder and more than a complex case, they are people that have feelings and he recognizes this. He has approached us with our complex kiddo with compassion, empathy and a steady confidence in his ability to help us care for her. He includes the entire family in his recommendations and is just an overall wonderful specialist.

He goes up and above to make my child feel comfortable, to ensure every question is answered and that he has carefully explained any concerns or recommendations he has. He works with the parents to discuss a plan specific to your child. Appointments were timely but getting calls returned was a bit of a challenge.

We have had multiple appointments at the Mpls office and each time, regardless of time of day, we have had to wait more than an hour after our scheduled time. It is really frustrating when you are trying to keep your child content.
