Sidney A. Jones's Online Review Report Card

I saw Dr. Jones in 2016. He barely asked me any questions about my autoimmune disorder, family history, or mental health in general and decided to take me off my antidepressants. He also would only examine my thyroid by standing behind me, pressing his full body against my back, and then basically choke me to feel the gland. When he noticed my tattoos he said “I love [subject of my tattoos]” and stroked my tattoos with his fingers. I called the facility he works out of and tried to report him. The administrator I talked to said something would be fine with the info I gave her, but I got a call about 6 months later asking when I wanted to schedule my next visit so that went nowhere. If you want a doctor who doesn’t listen, has the bedside manner of Ed Gein, and the examination style of the Hulk this man is your doctor.

Staff was terrible about returning phone calls; he was poor at relaying test results. I left for another endocrinologist.

My husband sees Dr. Jones for management of his advanced thyroid cancer. When we moved to MN in 2018 our family doctor recommended him and we are glad he did. We found him to be very personable. My husband had a recent appointment where I could not accompany him because of COVID. I am a nurse and had many questions about my husband's treatment. After my husband's appointment Dr. Jones called me to discuss his care and answer my questions. He even offered to facility an appointment for my husband to be seen at Mayo. We are sincerely appreciative of his care and support.

It takes weeks to hear back from this doctor, even for medication refills, which you can imagine, is unacceptable and the opposite of healing. I do not recommend this doctor, nor anyone else in his office.

Dr. Jones overbooks appointments, and often his pharmacist sees patients to ease his schedule. His staff is non-responsive, and even when they respond they do not do what they say or is needed. Test results can take 6-8 months to appear in charts, or be conveyed to patients. Otherwise, he seems like a good endocrinologist - if you can get him on a day where he can spend time with the patient.

I was not impressed with this doctor at all. Within the first 5 minutes he was wanting to put me on cholesterol medication and I don't have high cholesterol. I was not seeing him in regards to my cholesterol either. I was there for a thyroid consultation and he was not helpful with answering my questions. He did not look me in the eyes. He seemed to hurry and not have time. I don't feel as though he listened to me at all. I was disappointed & sought a second opinion from another endocrinologist.

He was very cold and detached. He didn't even look at me during the appointment and called me 'ma'am'. I had tests done ahead of time and took those in with me.. he asked why I did that.. cast them aside and re-ordered the same tests which we had to pay for all over again. When he did prescribe Armour for my thyroid, he didn't say a word about coming back in to check thyroid levels in 4-6 weeks so that the med can be adjusted. He doesn't seem to know much about thyroid treatment.

I have seen Dr. Jones for the last 2 years. His team is amazing!

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Jones and his team. I could not lose weight no matter what. Now my blood sugars are better and I have lost 16 pounds. I'm so happy. I know have hope that I will get to a healthy weight someday. They are such a helpful team.
