Was a patient of his for far too long. Poor bedside manner. Frequently rambled on about things in his personal life. Appeared to prescribe to Trump's hydroxychloroquine covid cure during one visit (how he got onto that topic, I don't know, as it was certainly unsolicited advice and it would seemingly be outside of his area of expertise). His nursing staff appears to be trained to milk office visits out of patients in order to get routine prescriptions, and then office visits are little more than a formality. Glad to be done with him.

Told me there is basically no hope, said I was a “time bomb” no doctor wants to treat, he wouldn’t want to be me, and left me feeling like my life should just be over. He casually makes a diagnosis of Ehlers Danlos but rights down a referral to a pain clinic for a non billable mcode and psychosocial pain. I don’t know whether his ego or his condescending attitude was more defeating but I won’t be seeking care again. Congrats, I give up.

His staff is incredibly rude. In the age of COVID-19, what doctor WANTS you to take the risk of an in-person appointment if not medically necessary? And when an RX is due they demand today a blood test and follow up. Instead of being proactive and professional and scheduling this in advance. There are better choices in the Twin Cities for a respectful rheumatologist.

Misdiagnosed me. He doesn't really listen to you. Unprofessional. They made mistakes often. Take the time to search for a caring professional who will actually listen to you. Only good experience was the lab workers and the PA.

I love that he is direct. He gives answers that are honest and professional.

I was a patient of Dr Ridley for over 20 years he was so very kind and thorough with me He always explained my options and gave me time to decide. I no longer see him because my insurance no longer has him as a provider. I continue with his care plan with another Dr but it has been a struggle. I do believe without Dr Ridleys care I would no longer be here.

So I was a long time patient of Dr David J Ridley from 2011 to 2015 when he diagnosed me with Ankylosing Spondylitis. I tried medication, infusion therapy & self injections at his direction over that time, all without success. I always felt as if I was meeting with a used car salesman, fast talking and anxiety inducing, not to mention leading. But regardless, I stuck with this doctor because of the referral. At that time I had a vehicle and medical assistance, so transportation for my appointments was not a problem. Fast forward to now, I have been travelling the West Coast for health, family & personal reasons the past couple years, and I chose to move back to Minnesota recently. Since I left MN has changed some things, and I am no longer able to get MA through the county as before because of my Medicare. And I do not currently have a vehicle nor do I know anybody who can or will get me there (50 minutes drive, 45 miles or so but closer than going to their other office location), besides not being able to afford the ride at this time of transition. I was again referred back to Dr. Ridley's office by my local clinic and I thought my MA would be active in time to get a ride for the appointment scheduled for me. Then I found out I do not qualify as I said for Medical Assistance, so I attempted to setup a sitter and a ride. After doing so, I rescheduled my appointment to the agreed upon date/ time with the ride. The day of that appointment I got a call in the morning, my sitter/ride cancelled last minute with car trouble. So of course, I again have to reschedule for a 3rd time due to these unforeseen and out-of-my-control circumstances. I thought at that time I should wait to reschedule my new appointment but was urged to do so & it was supposed to be tomorrow (7/26/17). I have been waiting for a return phone call from a county agency that has a ride program for medical transport I may qualify for according to the local community action center. When St Paul Rheumo made the reminder phone call a little bit ago (same person calls every time, they called her the first time patient coordinator, she's always been very nice to me and mispronounces my name every time I seen or spoke with her since 2011 lol) I had to explain my issue with getting transportation thru the county organization and how I guess I should either cancel or reschedule again just in case they don't call me today. She informed me that I can no longer reschedule because it'd be my third time, I'm like ok that's fine! But she proceeds to tell me that the Doctor had already seen his schedule for tomorrow and "he will go ballistic" (her words) if he sees for a third time I am not on it after he thought I would be. I said then I wouldn't want to see him anyways! If he's unable to be understanding of a vehicle-less disabled mother of two with no help or support for transport then he's lost me as a patient anyhow. So I also informed her I thought from her explanation of his attitude & horrific reaction made for a very unprofessional demeanor. Like I said in the beginning, used car salesman!! In this truly for the money with a weak bedside manner and according to a 2nd opinion I most likely don't have the progressive auto immune disease he said i do & that I don't even carry the gene or blood factor for. Again, in it for the money that he makes keep patients on medications they may not even need! Just thought I'd put my experience here, and vent my frustration at what i feel is discrimination against a disability he diagnosed me with in the first place LOL what a joke!? I'll just get a new referral ..smdh UPDATE: so glad i switched rheumotologists (ended up going with Allina Medical Specialties clinic in St Paul), I am doing so much better with a doctor who is more willing to listen TO ME and treat accordingly

His beside manner is awful. He was rude and talks over the patient's head. I would not recommend him at all.

I was charged $1600 for a injection that I never received. My insurance was billed, but didn't pay due to our high deductible. Hopefully this was an error and not a common practice .

Dr. Ridley has been a great support and aid in the medical issues concerning my wife.
