She knew me when I haven’t really seen her but one time. Obviously she went through my records. Which is a good thing. Gave her advice on what We should try next. She was nice, organized and on time. Explained what was going on. And how the procedure would go.

She performed a procedure on my spine with leads inserted on May 25, 2023. I was supposed to have the leads in for 7 days but I experienced severe pain in my mid-back and begged the clinic to have the leads removed in only 5 days! I clearly thought the pain would cease with the removal but that DID NOT HAPPEN. I continued to have the same severe pain for many weeks. BUT MY MAIN PROBLEM WITH THIS PROCEDURE *AND* DR. BETTENDORF IS THE IMPORTANT FACT THAT WHEN I WOKE UP FROM THE SURGERY, I HAD NO VOICE. I WALKED INTO THE CLINIC WITH MY VOICE INTACT AND LEFT BARELY ABLE TO SPEAK ABOVE A WHISPER!!! When I returned to have the leads removed on 5-30-23, I firmly asked Dr. Bettendorf, “what did you do; I cannot talk?” She said, “I didn’t do anything.” AN IMPORTANT FACT HERE IS THAT I WAS *NEVER INTUBATED!* I HAVE YET TO LEARN EXACTLY HAPPENED DURING THE SURGERY WHICH I BELIEVE AFFECTED MY VOICE/THROAT AND IT IS 8-11-23 WITH STILL NO VOICE. I HAVE TRIED TO RECOVER *ALL* MY RECORDS FROM NURA BUT HAVE BEEN STONEWALLED. THEY KEEP SENDING MY MY ALLINA PERSONAL MEDICAL RECORDS, WHICH I CAN GET AT ANY TIME. I AM CURRENTLY RESEARCHING MY NEXT STEP ... PERHAPS A LEGAL PATH IS NECESSARY. I WOULD *NEVER* GO BACK TO THIS CLINIC IF MY LIFE DEPENDED ON IT! I FEEL LIKE ALL THEY DO IS A “SALES PITCH” TO GET YOU TO AGREE TO HAVE PROCEDURES DONE WITHOUT ANY PAMPHLETS,INFORMATIONAL CATALOGUES ... NOTHING, OTHER THAN THEIR VERBAL SALES PITCH ...HUCKSTERS MUCH?

She explained the sharp pain I got during my injection as a "zinger" and that once in a while it happens but would go away soon. Then she gave me another "zinger" on the other side. In 30 years of getting these shots this has never happened before and the flippant attitude was not reassuring. This is the 2nd office visit that she didn't get the needle in right. She needs practice and concentration! Overall she is a nice person but not competent.

Even though the office was running behind, I didn’t feel rushed. Dr. Bettendorf answered all of my questions and talked me through each step of the procedure. I would definitely recommend her.

Dr. Bettendorf takes the time you need to explain the procedure and answer any questions. She is also very understanding and kind. Dr Bettendorf informs you that there are realistic and acceptable pain treatment goals. I appreciate that honest approach. When it comes to long term chronic pain suffering, there are no miracle cures. Realistic, tolerable and acceptable, I can live with that??.
