I tore I am a health care professional in PT and I tore 3 areas of the left shldr. while in practice. I initially went to a "renown" shldr. surgeon at Essentia who looked directly at my MRI and stated that it was a "minor Labrum tear", which was torn, along with 3 other areas of that shldr.. It was 2 years since my r. shoulder rotator cuff repair. Dr. McCarty was awesome, as was his PA. Unfortunately, I am now facing the same terrible pain in my left shoulder. Shoulder repair surgery is the most painful surgery. I had my surgery in September 2017, still, at Thanksgiving we went to dinner and I was in a partial sling with my tens and ice. It was not a picnic. If you are not in excruciating pain, forget it. I've been following the rehab exercises as I did prior to surgery on the r. I'm certain the same fate will occur. I truly regard McCarty as the best. At my 1 week follow up back in 2017, a woman say across from me waiting for the surgeon. She proceeded to tell another woman that she had 2 tear repairs and both failed. She had no choice but to try again. Her story stuck in mind, I trust Dr. McCarty's procedure was a success. Courage/Allina have the best.

Love Dr McCarty! He spent a great amount of time explaining things to me, and what our options are so I could make a good decision for myself. He took care of a shoulder injury for me and a torn meniscus. His staff is also as friendly and helpful. I would recommend him to anyone.

After a bad experience at Tria, I ended up with Dr. McCarty so he could fix my previous botched surgery. He is the most compassionate surgeon, and isn't an arrogant jerk like so many others. He is exceptional not only with the surgical procedures, but also for continuing care and making sure you're taken care of to the best of his abilities. He has an extensive network of specialist and will refer you to the best if you need something further. I can emphasize enough how highly I recommend him!
