Allina Health Faribault Medical Center Emergency Room's Online Review Report Card

Went in for stomach pain for my 1 year old daughter the emergency room drs and nurses all looked at us with that face of “are u serious?” Super annoyed and side eyeing us. Well all they did was take her vitals and determine she’s fine after they heard she had diarrhea a couple of days prior to her stomach pain. I feel as if they thought we just went in for fun. I will only bring my daughter if something is off. Of course she’s had diarrhea before of course I know how she reacts this was not normal. Crying for days holding me every 5 episodes per hour. Saying “ouch” grabbing her stomach. I knew I had to take her in. All they did was push on her stomach and said it was just a “tummy ache”. “ yea don’t worry one of the nurses said I have kids too I worry about them like that too” -.- . Why couldn’t they ask “does this happen usually when she gets Upset stomach? Nope just looked at us and poked her stomach and told us to go home. I waited another night my daughter still in pain so I decided to take her to children’s emergency room in Minneapolis. Right away they asked all the right questions wrote down all our answers offered ultrasound and X-rays. Guess what they found. My daughter had a INTUSSUSCEPTION thankfully they treated her right away made the pain go away and out the door happy and healthy again in under 8 hours. Alina needs to retrain their staff or just shut their whole emergency department down. Not the first time they fail me. Goes with out saying I’m sure there are some exceptions to this review. Like DR.RAN and nurse John they’re great. Felt very heard and cared for by them. But other DRs and nurses have been a great disappointment.

I wouldn't even give them one star--if only there were a negative star option. They do not help in any way, shape or form. Find somewhere else to go. It'll be not just faster but you'll actually be treated. Faribault Allina ER does not have doctors that truly want to help people--just want to make them wait in pain and then not do anything but pass it off onto someone else's plate so you're no longer a problem. I'd rather die than be there ever again.

On many occasions we have dealt with rude nurses and Doctors and ended up going to owatonna or the Northfield emergency. Tonight I took my sister down and the nurse came didn’t even a knowledge me or the patient, grabbed the wheelchair that my sister was sitting on and just sped up to the exam room. I had to physically run after the nurse (Johnny) to catch up to him. I figured that the emergency is busy and it might have been a hard night but was proven wrong when he greeted the next patients with the warm smile and acknowledge them. The double standard is appalling. This hospital needs to do a cultural training for some of their nurses and doctors.

Nothing but the best to say about my visit. Next to no wait to be seen. Everyone was a pleasant as could be. Highly recommend, very good visit. Thank you

Girlfriend went to have our 6 month old daughter seen for double ear infection.. receptions asked our 13 yr if he was the father!Then proceeded to make him leave he had sit in the car in negative -5 Temps for 2 hrs just so our daughter could be seen...do not recommend

My father had to be transferred here from a local hospital er that he was in because no beds. He did not have Covid-19 instead it was a combination of chf, ckd, and he of diabetic the doctors and nursing staff were absolutely amazing. So helpful whenever family would call to check up meaning this hospital was 2 1/2 hours from where my dad lived and the rest of us lived as well. Not one time did a nurse or staff seem bothered with the non stop calls or asking what was in his charts. I would not ever say I’d recommend a hospital because that’s crazy sounding but I 100% would say if someone was needing to be in a hospital for any reason birthing etc hands down this one would be chosen if it was local for you. I hope the community in faribault realizes how fortunate they are in having such incredible kind sincere staff there for them. God Bless - Christine Anderson
