Kristen Williams Md's Online Review Report Card

I've been dealing with infertility for over 2.5 years now after a miscarriage. I had a D&C procedure at Park Nicollet women's clinic in Maple Grove with Dr. Gouge (who was wonderful). When I did not successfully conceive seven months later I went back to this clinic and saw Dr. Williams (multiple times) because Dr. Gouge was not available. I cried to Dr. Williams and told her I could just feel in my bones that something was wrong and I wanted to explore my options (specifically bringing up clomid). She ignored my concerns and said that I would need to wait at least a year since the miscarriage before she would consider this. She did not recommend I see a RE or fertility doctor, she did not recommend any changes that might help me conceive, and she brushed aside my concerns. Now over 2 years later I STILL have not conceived despite five failed medicated cycles and IUIs. It turned out I had silent endometriois and recurrent ovarian cysts that are likely preventing me from conceiving. When I think back to my visits with Dr. Williams it still makes me angry. If only she had recommended that I see someone else who had more expertise in infertility, it is possible that I could have saved myself years of heart ache. Now I have finally reached the point of IVF, it has been cancelled due to COVID and I have no idea when I will actually be able to start. If only I had see a fertility specialist earlier, I may not be stuck in this cycle of heartbreak and anger. I have been crying nearly every day because I am so tired of being stuck in this seemingly endless cycle of grief and heartache. Had I known what I know now, I would have been able to better advocate for myself, but I was a the beginning of this journey and needed a doctor who would give me useful advice or at least more information in that moment. Dr. Williams did not do that for me, and I am not sure I will ever get over it.
