I feel it's hard to write a review on the North Memorial Ambulatory Surgery Center because I was asleep for most of it! . When we arrived they were fairly busy. They took out name so we wouldn't have to stand there waiting. We were called up and processed quickly. I was called back immediately. I was very anxious and the staff recognized it and helped calm my nerves. I met with all that were going to be involved with the surgery. I walked into the operating room and got very nervous. The nurses were able to talk to me and keep me calm. Now this is about the time everything becomes a blur. The next thing I remember is speaking to a nurse and her moving me to another room. When I got to the room they went and got my fiancé. They got me water, juice and crackers. They made sure I was able to move around to move around. They went over all discharge papers with my fiancé. They got me loaded into the car. One the best features is they were able to keep my fiancé update while the procedure was taking place.

Billing is HORRIBLE. You leave a message and they do not bother to call you back...then send your claim to a collector. A VERY BAD BUSINESS PRACTICE. the surgery and service specific to my surgery was great. But need an over haul of their billing office and practices. They could first start with calling their customers back....which would be a huge improvement. It's really too bad that the doctors, nurses, and staff work their tails off only to have these billing people ruin it for the center.

Service was great on day of procedure, great doctors. Billing is a different story. When we arrived we were asked to pay $1400.00 which was fine we have a big deductible, so we paid. After looking at the EOB with my insurance company I realized they should have only charged us 800.00. So after waiting to hear from them for 2 months I finally call and they say we will send you a refund check. I need the money to go back onto my HSA card which is a mastercard and my insurance company says that is the correct way for them to do it. They will issue a refund only as a check which I have to deposit and reissue a check to my insurance company.
