List of Melvin Ashford's Reviews
I first visited Dr. Ashford via a recommendation from my GP. I am 55. I had several varied yet unique needs. Technically, I needed about 3 different specialists to take a look at me, "down there", as well as hormonally. I have had several surgeries elsewhere, to repair some pretty serious damage following the birth of a 12 pound baby. After my most recent surgery, that Surgeon said: "If this doesn't hold, go somewhere else, I did the best I could." and Finally, my last crazy issue: I had a rare type of stroke, causing all of my hormones to drop to ZERO. Dr. Ashford is patiently putting Humpty-Dumpty back together again!! The best part was: on the very first visit, I knew that I was in the right place, that he had the knowledge, and any other specialists or treatments that I would need, were right at his fingertips. I was not going to be bounced around. I have already sent a number of friends and relatives to Dr. Ashford, including someone who is driving 4 hours at a time just to see him. If you have even the slightest question that something is not quite right with the opinion that you are being given regarding ANY or your Lady Parts, internal, external, hormonal, any age, you need to make a visit to Dr. Melvin Ashford to give yourself peace of mind. Its worth it!!!
I was so encouraged and hopeful after talking with Dr. Ashford. He listened and let me know that what I have been feeling for a long time is NOT from getting older, but that the hormones need a bit of help and things will improve immensely. 💗
Dr Ashford always takes time to answer any questions I have. His staff is always very professional and courteous.
Dr.Ashford and the MN Womens Care clinic are top notch. He communicated clearly what the recommended treatment plan is and spent plenty of time answering my questions. All of their staff are friendly and give a personal touch to their service.
Love Ashfords practice❤️ he’s always caring and wanting to help!
Very professional and calm
I had a very positive experience . I was listened to, Heard & validated me . I was continually asked how I was doing during the procedure. Dr. Ashford didn’t rush and wanted it perfect! His assistant was constantly checking on my wellbeing, there were even some laughs. They answered every question and than some. You will not be disappointed! I 100% recommend!
DR ASHFORD IS A MONSTER!!! He made me have unnecessary, painful test done. The Potassium Sensitivity Test, involving the use a catheter tube inserted up the urethra into the bladder, filling it with water, & filling it with Potassium Chloride. If there’s no reaction to water, and a reaction to Potassium Chloride, it means a diagnosis for Interstitial Cystitis. A painful bladder disease. If there’s a reaction to both, it’s inconclusive(unknown). My first test before my consultation with Dr Ashford, Urodynamics Test, was unable to be completed, due to extreme pain from use of the catheter in my urethra. Dr Ashford should have reasonably known, any test using a catheter, would cause me a great deal of pain, therefore, if the purpose was to see if there’s a reaction to one of two substances using a catheter, and it’s inconclusive if there’s a reaction both, it would be a painful unnecessary test! I of course reacted to both! He lied about hormone test results and an MRI Defacography. Extremely Malicious!
I met with Dr. Ashford yesterday in order to have my hormone pellets inserted as I do three times a year. The procedure went well, and I have benefited enormously from this treatment over the years. I also spoke with him at length about my interstitial cystitis flareup and pudental nerve pain. He suggested a couple of new treatments including acupuncture. I had my first acupuncture appointment today and it went very well. I feel confident that my condition will be alleviated. Dr. Ashford has always been very helpful in addressing my issues of pain and pelvic floor dysfunction. I have total confidence in him, and I am very grateful for his knowledge and expertise.
Dr. Ashford is kind, very knowledgeable, and goes above and beyond in his desire to help people. I appreciate that. He was instrumental in noticing, diagnosing Interstitial Cystitis, and treating it. I improved and had symptom relief thanks to him and Andrea Bushaw, who is also very friendly, caring, knowledgeable and fantastic! I had nurse Tracy too who was great! The office staff seem to get confused by the computer scheduling system and often tell me that someone will call me later to schedule which can be inconvenient. I've had treatments double-booked with another patient too, where if you were the 2nd person scheduled for it, they may ask you to reschedule. That is frustrating. Sometimes Dr. Ashford is running behind so there's a longer wait time, but he is truly worth it and wants to make sure each patient gets all their questions and concerns answered. He's uniquely qualified and the best urogynecologist I've ever seen! Thank you, Dr. Ashford, and all who've helped with my care

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
