Horrible place. They care more about numbers then their patients and Dr. Mok is the absolute worst. Don't recommend urgent care not ER. ER tried putting a no tress passing order on us because we demanded out preemie son be evaluated before me and they said NO!! They care more about the time spent in the room for the money. Very rude and disrespectful people

Dr Hartman has been my doctor for three years now, and she continues to provide me with top notch care. She listens, makes wise suggestions, and refers to specialists when needed

It’s almost laughable how bad their service is. Earlier this year (Feb 2023) I needed a (what at the time looked like) a major surgery. Thankfully, the surgery itself was in St. Paul. However, I had the displeasure of having my pre-op physical done at Avera. The physical itself went fine. Nothing was too invasive and it was just some random doctor who was nice enough to squeeze me in. The first issue came after my blood draw. I had gotten a call from the lab about 15 minutes after I left, saying my sample clotted and I needed to give a new one (a quick google search informed me that blood samples clotting is a result of mishandling the samples). The second and more alarming issue happened when I got to United in St. Paul. When the nurses there were going over my information, they paused and said “did you lose 50 pounds in 3 days?” Apparently, the lovely random doctor slipped while typing in my weight and indicated that I was 50 pounds heavier than I actually am! Shoutout to the lovely nurses at United for catching and fixing that. TL;DR: If it’s not an emergency, go to the cities or Sioux Falls. I have had so many issues with these guys since moving here. I would trust webMD before I trust avera again

Sunday morning decided to take my daughter into urgent care. This was the most traumatic doctor visit I’ve ever had . Shelly Palmer was our PA. I’m not even sure where to begin with the whole experience . I started to describe daughter symptoms and expressed concern for whooping cough because we had already ruled out influenza A , B , Covid , and Rsv a couple days previous . I myself am a couple weeks away from my babies due date and had a baby shower where cousins later left and found out they had whooping cough and contacted me that day . I asked Shelly if we could run a whooping cough ttest on daughter because she was very sick and coughing and had days previous exhibited sore throat , red eyes , fatigue and fever . Shelly said it was not whooping cough with out doing any type of examination. She said we should try allergy meds for a fever and cough. I found it very confusing because I do not believe fever is caused by allergies. She said she would run a strep Test which I agreed as I am trying to rule out all possibilities. I asked her again for peace of mind if we could run a whooping cough test as I am close to having a baby and also have an immune compromised son at home. She said she would not run the test as the cough doesn’t sound like whooping cough. I had found an article that said most all whooping cough cases start with dry cough which is what we all had and she did not give any reassurance to this expecting mother and was rather rude . She went to examine my daughter but did not explain what she was doing and grabbed her face rather quickly and started pressing on the sinus area with both hands which scared my daughter and she asked her to stop and asked Shelly “ what are you doing stop “ . Shelly said she is checking her sinuses and asked if it hurt my daughter said yes it hurts and you scared me . Shelly said she would run a strep test and started to leave the room. I was baffled she didn’t explain to my young daughter what she was going to do as tests and why. When the doctor left and the nurse came back I asked for her name and the doctors name . The nurse was short with me and asked me if I wanted to talk to the PA again . I said no I want her name to make a complaint . The nurse left and Shelly returned. she blocked the door with her hand and stood in the doorway and started berating me with questions as to why I want her name and I told her I would not longer like to speak with her as I felt she was trying to argue with me when I was just trying to find answers for the very least peace of mind . She left the room and daughter and I left ( me in tears ) . I asked the nurse on the way out if there was another doctor available to speak with and she said no Shelly was the only one available. This whole experience was horrible and happens very fast . I felt rushed in and out and my concerns were not met with compassion

I had to go to urgent care. I went 2 weeks ago I seen pa Shelly she was awful. I had beef sick for a month she said you should have gone to your own doctor. Told me I was fine get over counter. I was already taking. Now two weeks later I went in today. The RN was not nice said why didn’t you see your own doctor. I would have if I could get in. Now sick 6 weeks. The doctor I seen today was good. He could not believe that nothing had been done. We we’re very disappointed in the clinic.

A Patient Cured is a Patient Lost! I'm pretty sure you're good to stay home and check the cupboard, or worse case run to Walmart for a bottle of Tylenol because that's all you're getting at this cash grab of an organization, it's truely obvious to me they don't care whether you've recently been injured and are in searing pain or you just recently snapped your neck! No matter the case, the school nurse did more then some of these 'doctors'.

Never felt good at all , I had appointment at 4pm I was send by Avera hospital for the service on this side instead of letting me know that they were not going to offer me a service they waited until 5pm the they send me back to hospital 😞 they said that someone was waiting to give me service, which i dont think it was true, since the hospital was closed and nobody was at the front desk when I got their. I went home sad after being being around for almost 2 hours and there was no service.

They were nice and professional and didn't have to wait practically at all
