List of Ellie Mental Health's Reviews
I want to start by saying I have had wonderful experiences with individual providers here however, the core of Ellie and their practices have not been helpful. For example, if you are experiencing medication side effects, you frequently have to wait 2-3 days to hear back from someone. It’s nearly impossible to get someone on the phone when you do call, you’re prompted to leave a message. Further, I had an unpleasant experience with a provider that informed me they don’t treat the specific diagnosis I had. When I complained and filled out a formal complaint against her, Ellie “investigated” it and found she’d done nothing wrong. Why was I placed with her in the first place if she doesn’t treat certain things? On top of that, their staff people have been unprofessional. I received a voicemail saying my provider was no longer with the clinic just to receive another voicemail 15 minutes later saying they actually are still with the clinic. Overall, their internal system is flawed. For other psychiatric services, I think they need psych MA or RNs and a portal to quickly answer client questions instead of leaving people waiting for 2-3 days when minutes can matter with psych drugs.
I know my situation is entirely different than others but I HIGHLY recommend Ellie. I was able to get a neuro/autism evaluation for my son in less than 3 months, the doctor was informative and attentive, listened to my concerns, after a month we got the results. And the results were explained to me in a way I could understand. I can’t thank Ellie enough for that! I highly recommend Ellie Mental Health!
Do not go here for psychological testing. Unprofessional, rushed, and not a throughout evaluation. You'll get unnecessary and irrelevant comments about your career choices and goals. Cold approach.
I was trying to find a places and I came a crossed this group I called to make an appointment the girl I talk first was nice, but I forgot to asked a question so I call back another person responded she was rude and cold, I hang up, I called again and it was the same girl she was worse, people try to find therapy, spend their money, why would you offer a service to people that are seeking help and be the worse at your job. I would not recommend this place, I called back later the same day to cancel my appointment with them
Worse service and therapists. The therapist didn’t help me but created more problems for me and stress. The staff isn’t polite Don’t use them
I'm grateful for the TMS program. It has been lovely working with Talayla every day. TMS does work. The organization could use some work on communication as a whole. The automated processes limit provider-client rapport building, which is crucial to any type of mental health care. I'm sure, as with any corporate organization, the boards and executives don't see the bigger picture of client care and are more focused on fiscal responsibilities. This, in turn, causes a trickle-down disconnect between all parties.
Honestly, this agency is absolutely terrible, from billing, communication, call backs, reminders and services. Doctor is consistently late to virtual appts, one time we received an add on CPT code for services not rendered, no one to call or speak to directly...it's a mess! Recent med management appt sends a link to a portal that is NOT the platform they use for virtual sessions, so my daughter is waiting 20 minutes at school while I'm in a meeting (I work in mental health!) Then I get a rude unapologetic attitude from med management assistant who then tells me, "no need for this attitude" and hangs up on ME. Like what is this? Some Tik Tok platform or a professional medical service? Listen, I am the customer asking for effective communciation and cohesion in services...but no problem, decision made. Should have left a long time ago! Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY! Find a smaller, vetted mental health service who actually cares about the practice they run.
If you are looking at ADHD/Autism/any psychological testing, I highly encourage you to go elsewhere. I recently went through their assessment process for adult ADHD and Autism. The first provider I saw virtually made me extremely uncomfortable - garbage everywhere in the background, lack of empathy to responses, constant jittery movements, etc. I asked to switch providers as I had been on the wait list for nearly 6 months. Allison was very kind and found a provider that was available on the same day as my appointment. In-person testing was completed by a different provider who did not have access to questionnaires I had completed online (so why did I take the time to fill them out…?). He looked at ADHD but dismissed Autism. I expected a comprehensive diagnostic for both but that is not what I received. The report discussed the in-person testing but did not address any online documents or any documentation from the virtual intake. Honestly, I wish I hadn’t gone through this testing process as it was disappointing and far more stressful than it should have been. Only shoutout is to Allison who was very empathetic and accommodating. Edit: Ellie responded that I should contact Robyn directly, which I already have… twice. My concerns were not taken seriously and were subsequently not addressed. Honestly, this assessment center is an absolute mess. Go elsewhere, even if the waitlist is longer. Edited to add: Robyn stated that the online portions would be included in the final evaluation since I switched providers mid-process. I still do not have this “final evaluation,” well over a month later. There is no evidence that what I filled out online was ever taken into consideration. Do not waste your money, time, or energy here.
You guys are shady, expensive, and don't offer any real benefit to people in crisis. You don't offer psychiatrist medication management like you claim, and there was no treatment plan besides breathing techniques and calling 911. If I could give zero stars I would.
I habe been seeing my therapist for several months and find it ti be a good experience. My therapist has over a decade of experience and provides a safe and welcoming space. They also work in tandem with my med management (also Ellie). The minneapolis location is great and very convenient for me, with loads of free parking. There isn't a receptionist, so for those of us with anxiety it's a little disconcerting to not have someone guide you, bit it actually is pretty intuitive and easy to sign yourself in. The building is handicap accessible. As far as insurance, I have had no problems at all, the billing seems to be bimonthly and setting up a miyo account let's you access your appointments, messages, and make payments. I was able to determine that my insurance was accepted by Ellie before receiving services. I didn't have to wait very long to begin therapy and only about 4 weeks for med management-less than the average wait for most other places.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
