I personally had a poor experience as a client here. I would not recommend therapist Madelyn, to a particular demographic. This includes one or all of the following:

1. If you deal with current or past traumas related to abusive family systems that utilize(d) police and mental institutions as a power tactic rather than a safety precaution
2. Current or previous domestic dynamic with racial imbalances or injustices
3. Experienced police brutality

Though I won’t blame her, she was doing her job, I feel she’s not equipped to understand intersectional complexities and navigate them for an effective and truthful outcome. Overall, I just had higher hopes for a clinic "specializing" in PTSD. Just be mindful if you happen to have any of these issues listed above

Finally, on the contrast, Carmella at the front desk was compassionate and a friendly face
I had a personal poor experience as a client here. I would not recommend Madelyn or this clinic if you deal with complex personal traumas related to systemic racism injustices especially with emergency services -- as she does not seem to be informed or knowledgeable on this sensitive topic to handle it yet. I was also blocked into a room by another therapist with an arm against a door frame, again a trigger, which caused me to flee when I was first waiting calmly, because I knew I wasn't a danger to myself. As was later proved. My last appointment came three days after I had a crisis. I was cleared by both Madelyn (likely to get me into office three days later to call 911, to not call during "active" emergency was something I couldn't understand. I did everything I could to be honest - used skills, my safety plan, and crisis phone numbers (despite her report, this part was not true, which is the problem with not inquiring further). I don't blame her, not every provider is equipped to understand these intersectional complexities. Overall, I just had higher hopes for a therapist and place "specializing" in PTSD. Carmella at front desk was compassionate and a friendly face.
After about 10 drafts of my review, I've decided to take a different approach in what I'd like to say. I'll explain why in more detail later. For now I'd like to say that DBT-PTSD Specialists helped me with a multitude of issues, and I have almost nothing but great things to say about them.
DO NOT let your child receive care here. I was promised that my daughter's counselor, Samantha, was very experienced. I asked over and over about her experience level as I have a child who needs an experienced provider. Promised over and over again her counselor was the "most senior" they have. Loads of experience. I trusted them. Come to find out at billing that she doesn't even hold a license that allows her to bill. My daughters' counselor routinely told my daughter- I'm just a kid myself. I don't know. Concerns brought to management revealed that the manager was in the East Coast- "managing" over zoom. No onsite supervision of their extremely inexperienced staff. I think this organization did more harm than good with their substandard care. Real tragedy is that my child needed real medical attention. They did not provide. Lied their way in preventing us from getting help from a qualified provider. Shame on them. This is a bad organization. I regret I ever trusted them. They don't deserve it
🚩🚩🚩🚩They wont work with me on this issue with @Caila. I had a really bad experience with one of the counselors. I was at the ER, and was on a contract which happens to the best of us, and she told me I wouldnt be able to graduate from DBT to the DBT-PTSD group. Again I was in the ER. This isn't the first time it happened. I was put into the contract just for having a PTSD attack, after seeing my abuser. I didnt go to individual therapy. So, i asked about changing counselors without 0having to talk to her again. Apparently there is no way of doing this. She keeps texting me now avout doing a phone call or tvideo chat. Its just annoying now. This point even manipulation. Even the "manager" agrees that I should have left the EMERGENCY ROOM to go. And thatI was in the wrong for taking me days even though I work.
Being a part of this facility was the best thing I ever did (so far) w/my life. You can't build anything, from a foot stool to a LIFE, w/o TOOLS. DBT & EMDR patiently and lovingly will give you the tools that trauma, neglect, abuse etc. have been denied to you. I treasure my time there with Kim & Jess (and EVERYONE) and encourage any person who just wants to handle themselves and be handled with care to INVEST in this program. My life is BETTER in ways it never would have been for having done it. Yours can be too. Trust me, I was a worst case scenario. I can repay them now by ALWAYS GETTING BETTER, and I know I will.✌️&💖 to everyone. Miss you guys!🤓
I have felt at home there. my therapist Julie is an excellent listener and gives me helpful feedback.
Solid and dedicated licensed professionals providing desperately needed behavioral health services in our community!
They did help me with some stuff at first but eventually it became clear that you basically have to lie and say stuff is working or they don't want to hear about it. There can't possibly be anything DBT doesn't help with. Took 9-10 months to go through 6 months of material too because when the weather is slightly bad or too nice the therapists just want the night off (can't say I blame them but it's not exactly professional).
They work with me on everything, billing and such. They've been amazing at every single thing I've gone through! The receptionist even emailed me restraining order papers for an issue I was having and said if I filled them out I can email them back and she'd mail them to the courthouse! They go out of their way for me. Group dbt class is great! And emdr is a miracle and my therapist is a miracle worker!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
