List of Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation's Reviews
With any institution trying to implement a broad program for individuals, there are bound to be issues. With that being said, my time at HBF Plymouth was invaluable. I especially want to mention Mary the psychologist & counselors Sara and Cozi on the Pioneer Unit. Advocacy is a huge part of individual recovery, and I was especially encouraged by these three to ask for what I need when I need it. It works if you work it!
Andy is a terrible counselor broke confidentiality multiple times did not receive good treatment they treat you like children on the adult units go to an adult rehab if you are looking for treatment
Edit: Still mad about being stuck on suboxone, which is absolutely necessary for users who are physically dependent, but I wasnt. Ive been dealing with severe chronic pain, so I cant just taper off. Im stuck.

I attended this center at age 23, because the person who planned my intervention had some connection to Hazelden. I am 27 now, and still trying to untwist the medications they put me on. They were harder to get off of than the drugs I came in there to quit, and unless you go to their very expensive post-inpatient housing (which is just fancy sober living), they could give a shit what happens to you after they put you on these meds. Furthermore, they advertise, "best dual diagnosis treatment," just like every other rehab. That was very far from my experience, actually it was a therapist at my fourth inpatient treatment in the middle of nowhere IL who discovered I'm autistic. I don't understand how if the dual diagnosis is so great, and they had more time than this other center, how they would miss such a diagnosis. Not only that, misdiagnose and med me up so I'm nice and easy to work with in group, but completely fall apart once on the outside. I now thankfully have over a year clean, but this whole industry just exists to profit off of our suffering. There's absolutely nothing here that's worth what they charge, and if you are a wealthy parent reading this, EXPENSIVE DOES NOT MEAN BETTER TREATMENT! What matters is the quality of employees at the given time you visit, all of these places are operating with profit in mind. They gave everyone the same, "cash assistance," offer at 50%, whether you're dirt poor (which they find a way to weed those kids out) or extremely wealthy. This whole industry is set up to take advantage of suffering kids and worried parents, and it makes me sick!
I had a great experience at Hazelden Betty Ford Plymouth. All the staff cared greatly about me, were helpful, and were very intelligent.
Life-changing and eye opening experience in not just addiction, but also mental health.
This place has granted me one of the greatest opportunities. The other reviews are usually just people who got in trouble because this is the best treatment I've been too and I've been to 9 of them.
I recently completed my time at Hazelden Betty Ford, and I can honestly say it was a life-changing experience. From the moment I arrived, I felt supported and welcomed into a community that truly understands the journey to recovery. I enjoyed every minute of my stay and met so many lifelong friends who continue to be an important part of my life.

During my time there, I learned that I can have fun while being sober, which was a huge revelation for me. The program gave me valuable life skills that I will carry with me forever, and the staff helped me get my medications sorted out, which made a world of difference in my day-to-day well-being.

I especially appreciated the day treatment program, which kept me engaged, motivated, and focused on my recovery. Now that I’m in IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program), I’m still enjoying the supportive structure and continuing to grow every day. Hazelden Betty Ford gave me the tools, confidence, and friendships that make living sober not just possible, but truly fulfilling.
The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation has amazing staffing that cares deeply about the patients in their care. The support given to me by the staff was incredible and you can tell they truly care about recovery.
Hazelden Betty Ford offers an incredible learning opportunity and has had a profound impact on many individuals. Their comprehensive approach to addiction treatment and recovery helps people address not only the physical aspects of substance use but also the emotional and psychological challenges. By providing education, support, and resources, they empower individuals to make lasting changes in their lives. The organization creates a supportive community where people can share their experiences and learn from one another, making the recovery journey more manageable and hopeful. Overall, their commitment to helping others truly makes a difference in the lives of many.
Overall I had a really good experience, the staff was supportive and actually cared. My only complaint is I wish there were more co-caps and more variety in the café options because it got repetitive after a while after the res and iop.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
