If you want a spouse or partner to be diagnosed via Mary (without the trouble of actual meeting her) or have your family abandon you because of Mary's diagnosis - make an appointment.
We are so grateful we found Mary! Her expertise and personal experience with Aspergers has made all the difference! My husband and I have come so far and will continue our journey with Mary.

Her work with trauma is a plus!
I am so thankful to have Mary in my life. I don't know where I would be without her.
Mary Einarson is one of the best counselors ever. She has helped my wife and I to respect and appreciate each other in ways we could not imagine. I have Aspergers and Mary's understanding of this subject has helped me to understand how my life has been impacted by this condition and ways that I can learn to cope with the condition.
With this understanding, my wife and I are in a better place. She has also helped my wife and I to process our other issues and trauma's in our lives.
I wouldn't be thriving and standing on two feet if I hadn't found Mary. To finally understand my husband's AS was a gift in itself. Because she's lived it, she gets it! My marriage was not saved, but that was because of choices that my ex husband made, as he unfortunately got swallowed up into the darkness of addiction. Because of his addiction, my life became utter chaos, madness, and I experienced a tremendous amount of trauma. It was the hardest thing I've ever dealt with in my life. For several weeks in a row, I would get to Mary's office sobbing. She always knew how to calm me down and help me sort and process my horrific situation. She helped me FIND MY STRENGTH! Along the way, she said some things that I didn't want to hear, but I needed to look at my own self and MY behaviors in order to move on and thrive. A lot of people don't like what their therapist says because it usually means they need to look at their own issues. We always get to choose. Always! I chose to get my life back and Mary guided me and helped me find my way. She helped me navigate a very painful and unexpected road. I can't thank her enough.
Mary saved our marriage!

My husband and I went through several years of therapy, both couple’s and individual, with various qualified professionals. Although we loved each other, all that therapy wasn’t really working; indeed, it sometimes felt traumatic and perhaps harmful.

Through the course of those therapies, it eventually became clear that my husband has Aspergers Syndrome. He was clinically tested and diagnosed. The diagnosis helped a bit, as it explained some of his behaviors, but we were still at an impasse—neither of us were getting what we wanted and needed from our marriage, with me grieving for the affection and intimacy it seemed we would never have.

One of our therapists had been given Mary’s card and suggested we check her out. We saw her and liked her. My husband trusted her, which was essential. We did a few individual sessions with Mary and I began attending Mary’s monthly wives support group. Things improved somewhat but we were still feeling “stuck”— my husband resistant to change, asking why things had to be “my way”.

I remember the session where my husband “got it”. I was very distressed, asking why he wouldn’t help me in our relationship. Something shifted that day. My husband became more open to Mary’s suggestions. She made a list of things we needed to do e.g. three hugs with kisses a day, sitting close together when watching TV etc. we did and do a verbal check in everyday at dinner time, sharing the happenings of our day, our feelings, an affirmation, showing verbal appreciation for each other and more. And we committed to intimate physical closeness (aka sex) once a week. And she made me understand that most Aspy’s experience high degrees of anxiety and I wasn’t to try to fix that for my husband.

Flash forward more than a year later: we hug and kiss multiple times a day. We are physically intimate most weeks. We laugh together a lot more. And I can’t remember the last time we had the kind of catastrophic fight we used to have with some regularity. After almost 28 years married, we finally have the kind of partnership we had always hoped for. Thank you Mary!
Mary Einarson is a hidden gem in the counesling world. My husband and I were in crisis due to job loss, ongoing health issues, and raising young children. She helped us to find resources and build a support community for our family that was life-changing. The other thing that is unique about Mary is she validates each person's feelings. My husband and I had separate appointments with her and we discussed later on. We both had talked about the same issue with her, but she validated each of our feelings and encouraged each of us to try different ways of working it out. I trust Mary and am so glad that she is available to work through the difficulties of life with me.
Mary is an excellent therapist. She has helped me through some very difficult times in my life. She's a great listener and provider of guidance and advice that helps you deal with life's difficult situations. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a therapist who listens, cares, and advises to visit with and consider Mary.
My experience at Spectrum was life changing. The very session Mary had both my husband and I able to exhale after years of frustration with our marriage. It was if she knew us both so well. The reason for that is she understands Asperger syndrome and is licensed to deal with couples that are struggling in their marriage because of it. Mary made us feel so comfortable and safe. She was able to describe our feelings and situation back to us which was like a breath of fresh air and new life. Mary gave us hope that we had been lacking for decades.
I recommend Mary to anyone who might be in a relationship where Asperger syndrome is present, not diagnosed and in need of understanding and help.
I will forever be thankful to Mary for her help.
Our experience was terrible. She over involved herself on aspects that she had no business in, such as telling us to have our baby cry it out to please my husband because we needed to cater to him. We never went back. This was over a year ago and I am still appalled thinking about it. There are so few resources for NT/AS couples and she did far more damage than help.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
