Mayo Clinic Health System's Online Review Report Card

Sorry didn't even want to give a 1 star. I was told I needed a specialist for my ears and through. The doctor scheduled multiple appointments that I was unaware about and then the dr told me that I need to make another appointment and complete a COVID test. This information was not told to me. And then he told me I wasn't there for my through till he looked at the chart again and saw I was suppose to be seen for it. Then I ask what good is the vaccine and he says so I don't die. So not only did I get charged for unwanted appointments this so called specialist did absolutely no more then the doctor before him and then tried to get me back in to pay him another 700 dollars. Worse place ever, I will not go back!!!

These guys are selling their name A Mayo Clinic Care Network hospital dos not have to be a very good hospital. Take Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington Virginia, they use a hospitalist (not even a word) to run their whole hospital. In case you don't know what a hospitalist is it's a kid the hospital gets out of med school and all the specialists have the kid write the orders you never talk to a specialist you get to talk to the kid. Mayo should not be selling their name especially to crooks.

I read the reviews before coming here, but decided they were all almost a year old and probably not an accurate reflection on how the urgent care ran now. That was my first mistake. Save yourself the time and energy. The receptionist in urgent care couldn't have been more rude, responding with "I don't know, I'm not going to make your decisions for you!" When I asked if it would be better to go to the ER instead of urgent care for my issues. Plot twist. Urgent Care doesn't do any type of IV or fluids. But this wasn't informed to me until I was finally seen 2.5 hours later by a doctor named Chuck, who seemed to enjoy asking me questions but then cutting me off halfway through my answer. Chuck ended up getting a nurse to give me a shot before going on break and not telling me he was going on break, just disappearing. After 15 minutes had passed (he said I would notice relief after 10) with no pain decrease, I set out to find Chuck which is when I ran into another nurse who told me I would have to wait until he got back from break. At this point, it had been 4 hours and counting just for a shot that wasn't doing anything to help, and I was starting to get annoyed. I explained to the nurse that I knew this had nothing to do with her, but I was beginning to get really upset with how this visit was going. She said she would ask the other doctor if he could order something for me until Chuck got back. 10 minutes go by and she comes back in the to with a meaner looking nurse (backup, presumably) to tell me "you can leave if you don't want to wait for Chuck, because this other Dr. Cole refuses to help you because you weren't his original patient." This was extra surprising since Chuck had spent less than 10 minutes getting to know me, and at least 8 of those minutes was just him talking to himself / humming to himself as tried to log into the hospitals computer system in the patient room. I've been visiting the Eau Claire, WI Mayo for nearly a decade, and have had great experiences everytime. If you're really committed to Mayo, just drive the extra leg to Eau Claire. I wouldn't return to this Red Wing Mayo Clinic if every bone in my body was broken and I was bleeding out of my face.

Mayo Clinic in Red Wing and Rochester did a terrific job for my wife three years ago. I had high hopes for similar service when I began to experience vision problems, but I have been shuffled from one department to another, mostly getting "we don't do that here" or "when you know more about what's wrong with you, come back." Maybe Mayo is just focused on women's problems or my problem isn't "interesting" enough for their clinicians. I am really disappointed.

I've experienced hospitals from California to Texas to Minnesota, in small towns (like Red Wing) and large cities (like L.A., Denver, and Dallas) as either a patient or a parent with a sick or injured child or a technical medical professional representing a medical devices company. My expectations are set by that range of experiences. Considering the size of the community, Red Wing is blessed to have such a range of services and professional medical service providers. There are many cities substantially larger than Red Wing, both in Minnesota and across the nation, with substantially less capability than what is available in Red Wing. My wife's gynecologist spotted a rare form of cancer in a routine examination that could easily have progressed beyond Stage 1b before it was found. This particular cancer is untreatable with chemo or radiation, if it can't be surgically removed. The connection between Red Wing's Mayo Clinic and the Rochester facility is terrific. Our experience with all of the personnel and doctors, both in Red Wing and Rochester, has been exemplary; far beyond the expected.

The Emergency Room is a disaster. They are racist, refusing POC decent care and pain management. They also kept me there for over 8 hours for stitches, refused me anything to calm me down or pain. They also called the cops on me since I was stuck there in the middle of the winter and I had to drive less than 5 minutes to my house.

Can't say enough for the Red Wing Hospital..Took my husband in with a stroke at 11:30 PM in the middle of a snowstorm. They met his every need with patience and understanding. The doctor and nurses knew exactly what to do and got him connected with Mayo in Rochester immediately. A clot buster was administered before transporting him down to Rochester. Even the receptionist was awesome and cheerfully helped me with registration as this was our first visit to the hospital.Within 3 hours he was stabilized and sent to Rochester for a stay of 5 days in ICU. Today, he has very slight symptoms all due to the contentious care at Red Wing Hospital!

If you are ever in an accident or break a bone - please, please, please don't go to this hospital. My husband was in an accident and taken to the Red Wing Mayo and it's been 6 months of one nightmare after another. They didn't notice that his hip was broken and only treated another break. He's on his third surgery to fix this mistake and it's an absolute nightmare. They forgot to order his blood, they screwed up his registration, I am scared to take him there. Please, don't use this hospital for any sort of surgery. The nurses, aides and everyone else are marvelous and I can't say enough good about them, but there is something wrong with the surgical department.

Possibly the worst hospital system in the world. This is supposed to be the the best hospital system in the world. That is a BIG misunderstanding. The doctors and staff have lied, over charged, and manipulated. They take advantage of people. They give drugs out like it's candy. Doctors and staff are rude at times. When a hospital system gets this big and well recognized sometimes they think they can get away with anything. This isn't Ok. This hospital system should be shut down if they continue the above.
