I saw several Urologists including in the cities and Mayo in Rochester. Dr. Twidwell was by far the best and saved me from long term problems. He’s personable, kind and really puts you at ease. I can’t speak highly enough about what a great doctor he is and I was so glad I saw him.

Dr. Twidwell responded to my questions after my procedure and during my follow-up appointment. He showed me the CT scans on a computer monitor so I could better understand my condition. Beside his 35+ years of knowledge, practice, and experience in urology and his fine professional credentials, Dr. Twidwell is kind, caring, and sunny. I feel I'm getting the best possible care available in this day and age.

Poor communicator; Dr. Twidwell didn't listen to, or remember my symptoms, and he changed my procedure the day of my surgery without explanation. After an initial consult outlining a specific procedure, I scheduled a surgery with Dr. Twidwell. The day of my surgery, without running any tests, he changed my procedure based on symptoms I didn't have, adding additional, more invasive elements and a deeper form of anesthesia than initially discussed. He literally hand wrote the more invasive elements into the original chart/procedure disclosure after I had already signed it, then asked me to initial next to the changes while I was sitting in the pre-operation room. When I questioned him, he told me we had planned for these during the initial consult (we hadn't, why would he need to hand write them into the disclosure if we had?), blaming me for the miscommunication, rather than apologizing for his own mistake. Further, he offered no definitive reasoning or explanation for the last-minute change. After telling him I wasn't comfortable with the newly changed procedure and I wouldn't be doing the surgery, he left the room disgruntled, without apologizing, and without discussing options for future care. Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend Dr. Twidwell.

I had Bladder cancer which required two surgeries and 6 BCG treatments. Dr Twidwell was able to diagnose the cancer quickly and took actions that cured the cancer in one set of treatments. Dr Twidwell spent the time to passionately explain treatment options in detail and answer questions for me and my family. Due to Dr Twidwell expertise it took 7 weeks to get our first appointment but it was well worth it.

Saw Dr. Twidwell for a first time 5mm ureter stone laser lipotripsy. He did a terrific job throughout the process of troubleshooting and removing the stone. He is personable, very knowledgeable, and a great communicator. I am in the medical industry and overall, he is the best doctor I have ever dealt with personally and for work.
