Dr. Shin provides information based on his experience. He does not insist on recommendations but allows people to make decisions they can live with. He listens, has great knowledge but does not force people to do something that they do not want. After 17 years on service I trust him implicitly.

I chose Dr. Shin for my son's hand surgery based on my experience working with him in surgery. He is a phenomenal and skilled hand surgeon who is greatly respected within the OR staff, profession and by his patients. I feel blessed beyond words for the care he gave my son, not only with the outcome of the surgical procedure, but with the overall experience and compassion. It is my personal and professional opinion that Dr. Shin is an competent and extraordinary hand surgeon.

If you have a brachial plexus or other upper body ortho issue, Dr.'s Shin and Bishop at Rochester Mayo is where you want to go for treatment. They use a team approach, and are able to help patients in ways other surgeons can't even dream of. Dr. Shin is not only technically excellent, he has a wonderful sense of humor, and it is a delight to see him. Before and after surgery he explains everything in layman's terms. Their nurse, Ashley, is top notch and goes out of her way to help patients and their families. I am so very grateful to have found this team for my children.
