Dr. Heidi K. Chua MD saved my life with her expertise and talents as a surgeon. She did my 3 part j-pouch, This surgery is very invasive and done over the course of 9 months. It was an amazing journey and she was incredible all the way through. I am 8 years post surgery and very pleased with the results. I highly recommend her. As with any body things are ever perfect, especially with the gi system, but I have quality of life because of this surgeon.

Dr. Chua performed my total colostomy, j-pouch 3 stage surgery. She did great in all phases of the surgery. I am 8 years post surgery. I have a very functional j-pouch. I do and eat almost everything. She literally saved my life. Very thankful for her talent and bedside manors.

She explained the procedure and all outcomes in detail. My surgery was successful with no complications. I would definitely recommend her for rectopexy surgery.

I was badly misdiagnosed and near death at a Twin Cities hospital. I was taken to Mayo by ambulance and examined by a team of doctors including the head of the colo-rectal surgery department. I had emergency surgery lead by Dr. Chua who, in no uncertain terms, saved my life. Due to the malpractice at the previous hospital, my recovery was long and painful. Dr. Chua stayed with me the entire time I was there. I suspect she gets the toughest, most complicated cases. I am alive thanks to her.

Not helpful and was more concerned with entertaining other traveling physicians that with assisting the patient. She’s disappointing. You can definitely do better.

Dr. Chua did both my initial colectomy and my take-down surgery. I have been completely satisfied with the results and have been healthy with no issues for 5 years.

AVOID LIKE the PLAGUE!!! I had complication after complication after complication; almost died, was malnourished due her refusal to provide nutrition, endured sternum to pelvic mid-line incisions x 2 leaving me with multiple hernias, both surgeries (colon resection and ilieostomy take down) she actually performed ended up requiring someone else to fix after every 4-5 days in ER with partial small bowel obstructions!

Never. She did the worst surgery ever. It got infected and it seperated and sunk in. Her and mayo clinic never once called checked in on me. They got all er reports. Were well aware of what happened. Don't use this dr ever.
