Joon H. Uhm's Online Review Report Card

This man saved my husband's life. We went to see Dr. Uhm because my husband was diagnosed with a brain tumor and we were told that it could not be operated on. Two years out from a 12-hour brain surgery and he's doing great. He did not even need radiation or chemotherapy because the surgeon's did such a great job removing what we hope is all of the tumor. We feel like he is our guardian angel. I've never had a doctor take the time like Dr. Uhm. He's very thorough, compassionate and caring. You can tell he truly loves what he does and cares about his patients. I cannot say enough good things about him. I am indebted to him forever.

I can’t say enough good things about Dr Uhm and the entire Mayo neuro team. My 24 yr old son has a very rare brain tumor. A tumor where a regular oncologist would never see his entire practice. We took our son to Mayo because they are ranked number one in the nation! Dr Uhm saved my son’s life by going outside the box with treatment. I wouldn’t trust my son’s care anywhere but Mayo. Dr Uhm is kind and caring. He emails me back promptly. We have his full and undivided attention when we are there for visits. We have never felt like a number, but as a valued patient.

I went to Dr. Uhm after seeing other doctors who were either too afraid or didn’t know how to treat my extremely rare brain tumor. Dr. Uhm gave me hope and treated me. He is patient and helpful and funny. I appreciate the way he takes the time to explain everything. We always feel like I’m his only patient. I can’t say enough good about Dr. Uhm.

Dr Uhm is truly a perfect example of professionalism. He is a expert in his field of neurology. A very caring and extremely patient with his patients. I have been under his care for 12yrs. We first met Dr. Uhm when he was on "vacation" but still did a consult with us for 45 minutes. He is a very caring and uses analogies to help explain complicated concepts. We realize that no doctor can predict the future, but he has built confidence in us and established hope for our family.

I began seeing Dr. Uhm in Sept 2008 & was impressed Day 1 with his thoroughness in explaining my brain tumor as well as time spent putting my mind at ease. He continues to follow me after successful surgery in Sept. 2011. I will be monitored by Dr. Uhm for many years to come & have complete earned faith in his care of me.

Some of the office staff is rude. This doctor does not return calls. Wait time is too long, even for a doctor appointment. He does not seem to have my best interests in mind, rather he pulls up statistics and says "that doesn't usually happen". Each person is unique and should be treated as an individual rather than a number but that doesn't happen with Dr. Uhm.

Makes a rough time in my life more miserable.

Dr. Uhm and his staff are beyond expectations. Dr. Uhm is one of the most caring doctors I have ever encountered. I wish all people in general were like him.
