My mother had a double mastectomy due to breast cancer and she decided to have reconstructive surgery to replace her breast tissue. She had expanders in and then chose to use her own tissue for reconstruction surgery. Dr. Martinez-Jorge took good care of my mother and listened to her preferences. He is kind and understanding of personal choices, without pressuring any options. My mother was pleased with her results and the tissue healed well. She is glad she used her own tissue and is thankful for Dr. Martinez-Jorge and his team.

Over-promises and under-delivers. Puts on a good bedside manner, but repeatedly failed to follow through. Also had significant problems with documentation, causing major care failures between visits.

In my initial consult with Dr. Martinez, we worked out a personalized surgical plan to accommodate my insurance & work limitations. None of this was actually documented in my care notes. When I scheduled the surgery, his personal assistant/scheduler forced me into their default plan. She became abusive when I tried to explain the agreed on plan, before pulling me off the surgical schedule. Months later, I got to meet with him a 2nd time and he claimed he was never consulted about the care discrepancies. Despite saying he was still fully supportive of our original care plan, he spent most of that visit trying to talk me out of it. Afterwards, his assistant continued her hostilities by ignoring my care questions and revoking clinic appointments. When I tried to seek accountability through the Plastic Surgery dept, he painted me as a liar and mentally unwell, getting my care suspended entirely to cover his own mismanagement. He wasted 2.5 years of my life with this BS.

Dr Martinez is a very special and rare breed of surgeon who not only hears you but listens then makes it come true I have had multiple major surgeries with him and I can say that not only do I trust him with my life but I have never been disappointed with what he has done for me. This human is so special and you will never find another doctor like him anywhere and I have had consults all over the us. Marisa b.

Dr. Martinez performed a breast reduction on me directly after breast cancer surgery. I chose to have it done while I was still in the operating room so they could get excellent margins in removing my cancer. I am really dissatisfied with the aesthetic appearance of my end result. What he described he would do before my surgery was not all done. My breasts are not "perky" at all as I was told numerous times before surgery by the Dr. and his staff. I now have smaller saggy breasts. They hang to the side of my chest and are uncomfortable when trying to lower my arms because they're in the way. They are smaller than I asked for and not the same size. One is longer than the other. My scars are not in the creases where my breasts fall, so bad to the point that I can not wear low cut clothing and swimwear without my scars being very noticeable. and unappealing. I had a skin graft done by him today so not sure how it looks yet but not anticipating anything bad. I shall see next week when I follow up but I’m feelings optimistic about the results. He’s very intelligent, caring, kind and compassionate which are wonderful quality's to have in a doctor. I liked how he explained everything to me even if I asked the same question twice haha! I would highly recommend him.
