List of Marie C. Hogan's Reviews
First time meeting Dr. Hogan and was not impressed at all. After introductions she asked if we were at Mayo's for a miracle drug. She proceeded to ask questions but didn't wait for a full response and would interrupt. Then she treated my husband like a little kid making him read out loud a list of foods that he should not eat due to high levels. We didn't have full faith in our doctor at home and wanted the best 2nd opinion possible. We didn't drive 4.5 hours to be ridiculed by a "professional".
I was born with polycystic kidney disease and had a particularly aggressive form of the disease. And I have been a patient of Dr. Hogan’s since July 2018. Contrary to the misguided and shallow reviews I have seen elsewhere on the internet, I have deep experience with Dr. Hogan. She is a fantastic physician with unrivaled experience for PKD patients. She guided me through the transplant process and was kind and focused the entire time. I ended up having a combined kidney-liver transplant in December 2019 and it was successful. I strongly encourage any person suffering from PKD to contact this renowned physician. She saved my life. I cannot thank her enough for her unyielding efforts.

After a several months of challenging health emergencies I became a patient of Dr Hogan. I found her to be very attentive to each of my concerns. She listened to what I was saying and created an 11 point plan to address each issue until everything was resolved. I am very grateful and feel her attentiveness resolved what my local doctors didn't. Dr Hogan was wonderful! Mayo clinic is fortunate to have her on staff.
I found Marie Hogan to be temperamental, unprepared, and mean-spirited. She did not review any part of my medical record and seemed to have no idea of why I was coming to her for advice. She ignored the previous diagnosis and launched into an entirely different subject that had already been taken care of by a previous doctor. My appointment with her was an unpleasant waste of time. She is certainly the exception to the rule at Mayo where almost every physician is outstanding.
Dr. Hogan is a wonderful, kind, and caring doctor. She helped me understand about PKD and getting ready for my kidney transplant. I can't thank her enough.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
