Rare surgical skill greatly appreciated

In early 2020, after a couple of years seeking medical advice from urology departments in two other hospital groups, I chose the Mayo Clinic. I initially met with Dr. McLaren and then was referred to Dr. Tollefson who performed a prostate biopsy in June of 2020 and then a prostatectomy in July of 2020. I consider myself very fortunate to have had the benefit of the combined skills and expertise of Dr. Tollefson, the staff of the urology department and radiology services at the Mayo Clinic and Hospitals. I can't say enough to properly thank Dr. Tollefson and everyone there.

Just had my initial appointment w/ Dr. Tollefson re a positive result from prostate cancer biopsy. Mayo Clinic, Dr. Tollefson, & staff were all amazing. The health care community at large could learn a lot from studying their attitude and approach to health care.

My mother had bladder cancer almost 5 years ago. Dr. Tolefson saved my mother. He is a n awesome surgeon, doctor and person. Thank you for being honest with our family and savin our Mom.

Dr. Tollefson has been treating me for prostate cancer for 2 and 1/2 years. He is clearly an exceptionally bright man and an excellent surgeon. Beyond that his hallmark is his caring, patience and understanding. Despite a few setbacks, he has always left us feeling that we are in excellent care and that he truly cares about my health and recovery. I cannot recommend him more highly.
