Dr. Abdel has replaced both of my hips and is scheduled to replace my knees. He has always been professional, courteous and patient with my husband and I. He explains and answers any and all questions we have. I would highly recommend Dr. Abdel for knee or hip replacement surgeries without any hesitation.

He's a competent orthopedic surgeon, however, what stuck with me was how arrogantly insecure he is. I witnessed how he treated the nurses, and as someone who has been blessed with a long, successful career I was astounded by him immaturity. He's a black mark on the Mayo brand, and I if I ever need to go back I will not support his career. We all have the ability to grow and improve, and he needs to take a long look in the mirror. I've seen many like him, and its self defeating in the end.

I had a very difficult chronic knee infection requiring extraordinary steps to remove a knee implant for 4 months and then replace the implant with a new one. In Chicago, they discussed amputation but Dr Abdel was able to not only save the leg but put in a new knee allowing me to be pain-free and resume normal activities after more 10 years of chronic pain. I would highly recommend him to anyone. His personality is warm and comforting.

Mayo Clinic was a very positive environment! My appt with Dr. Abdel was so informative and I finally have answers after seeing 2 other surgeons and 6 months of pain!! We now have a plan of action for my knee problems! My appt was ahead of schedule and Dr. Abdel was very patient and very very educated in my area of concern. I highly recommend Dr. Abdel for any knee problems.

fast efficient and caring from first appt on Tuesday to total hip replacement following Friday. Minimum pain, it was actuallly FUN
