List of Mayo Clinic's Reviews
Because of on Facebook told me to stay away from this place because of one of nurses names Heidi Marie Pahl had became RN. I was very confused about that because on Facebook is very illegal to tell me to stay away from hospital and clinic because of her. I have great doctors and some of nurses there, but I suddenly found out that I can’t go to this place anymore because of what Facebook told me. I knew I urgently needed to see doctors for my issues in my brand new back pain that affects my right side, but on Facebook Mayo Clinic did tell me to stay away from this place. Please allow me to have appointments at this place or I will end up going to Twincities Hospital (Region Hospital/HeathParthner). Mayo Clinic has no rights to tell patients and me to stay away from this place if they need their medical attention. I felt like I am really sores, but I am afraid to go anywhere near Rochester. I have alertness issues and my back is getting hurt more. I knew there has friendly nurses and doctors who knew how to take care of me 28 years ago when I was a baby, but until now, I found out that there are changing because of Heidi Marie Pahl (I knew her as my friend in Hastings in 2009-2021), and then, her behaviors changed to worse that I got scare that she will keep threatening me if I would come to the hospital or clinic when I need to. My guide dog hated Heidi’s body languages because she could scent her body language because she became very aggressive easily when Heidi did threaten my Mom and me. I do not blame my dog because I tried to understand what my dog was trying to tell me. I knew Mayo Clinic is loyal and friendly, but I felt in my stomach that everything is changing because of Heidi Marie Pahl. I hope that Mayo Clinic will have consequences for forcing me to stay away from this place on Facebook. I am not trusting that nurse Heidi Marie Pahl! I am not saying I refused, just being forced to stay away from Mayo Clinic. And Mayo Clinic App doesn’t have blocking system that I needed to block Heidi Marie Pahl from harassing me. I knew my medical records are leaked because of her. Also, she hated my deaf friends and my family. She knows who my older brother, Spencer. I felt like she is not leaving my whole family and me alone for many years. And my special needed equipments broke by her because she got angry and very jealous of me. That’s very unfair of Mayo Clinic on Facebook to tell me to stay away from this place because of Heidi Marie Pahl. I knew she is not a good nurse because I had bad experiences with her at my house for a few years from late 2019 to summer 2021 that my guide dog really hated her because she knew that Heidi bullied me many times. I know she wants to kill me because she hates my mom, guide dog, my family, and me.
Mayo was good and caring a long time ago. My grandfather along with his close friends, the mayo brothers would be turning in their Graves. They see everyone as a number and not actually treating or helping with their issue. Giving fentinal to a patient with ibs and crones. 3 er visits in rw, no beds, ambulance ride, due to reaction.Turning away stroke and heart attack? I maybe got atleast 3 nights of somewhat sleep. MAYBE HAVE SOME EMPATHY ISNSTEAD OF NUMBERS AND DOLLAR SIGNS. YOU WERE ONCE A NON PROFIT HOSPITAL.!!!!!!
Wish it wasn't true, but it's all about money with them--just like every other hospital. $5,000 deposit required for uninsured people. Want tax returns for previous years to help indigent. No help if you made money a couple of years ago but are sick now. Medically, they didn't help me with my mystery diagnosis. It's all a big money grab. Go out of the country and get what you need done nearly free. It's worth the risk.
We had our child's 18 mo. appointment at Mayo a couple days ago. My wife and I haven't felt right about the interaction since. During the appointment, we were asked to give our son a certain shot 4 separate times. When my wife left the room for a phone call in regards to her current pregnancy, the doctor started telling me we are putting our unborn child at risk and wouldn't come off the topic. Lastly, we did order a couple shots for our son at the end of the appt. When the nurse administrating the shots entered our room she came prepared with the specific shot we refused saying it was ordered for for our son by the "doctor". Why does Mayo consider the authority of their staff above the parents of their patients? This was practically a dystopian interaction and I can't believe one of the top hospitals in the world would allow such malpractice. We are now looking to switch from Mayo to Olmsted.
Mayo Clinic is awful. The neurology department refused to see me for my lower leg peroneal neuropathy. Their response was "everything has been done already that can be done". This couldn't be further from the truth. As a patient; you must take ownership over your condition and do your own research. After Mayo refused to see me; I went to a doctor in Des Moines, Iowa. I asked him for a skin punch biopsy, because I had a suspicion that I may have small fiber neuropathy. Sure enough, the biopsy came back positive and I was diagnosed with idiopathic small fiber neuropathy. Mayo is the worst. They obviously have an ego, and they make many mistakes. Do not go here!
Had major surgery here. Under prescribed pain medications, upond release 2-3 days after surgery. Was given a literal 1 day prescription of pain medication, which was HALF (mg:mg) of the strength I was receiving hours prior to leaving my hospital bed. Their reasoning? "We don't like to do that". So you cut my pain medication in half after surgery and then act like it's my problem that I'm still in pain? Gaslighting weirdos. Stay away from this progressive liberal ideology nightmare.
They won't see me- I told her it was life and death. She said "I don't know what to tell you, see a local doctor". And this is after I told her I've seen 5, including specialists. When you submit and get denied for lack of availability, they don't let you request again for 6 months. My question was "so people who are very sick request appointments, get denied, and have to suffer for another 6 months?" Her response? "Yeah, basically" I am incredibly unimpressed at how little they care for the health of people reaching out who can't live their lives because of health problems. No one there cares about anything except the money they get from filling the 12 week schedule. No waitlist, no help, no compassion, no actual healing for those who may actually be dying. Literally: screw this place. I don't care if they have the best doctors, they are awful to potential patients. The ones scheduled and paying....that's another story. Healthcare is supposed to be there to fix the ill. They are not.
Voted #1 for good reason. Mayo Dr's and staff are world class. I live in Montana and travel to Mayo multiple times per year for cancer treatment and follow ups. Aside from "World Class" medical care; the clinic and hospital campus is beautiful and very well taken care of. They obviously focus on the details. Mayo is quite remarkable
Dr. D'Souza performed a pain injection on me that was the same injection I have received many times over the years at Mayo Clinic. However, this time he poked and prodded me over and over and wiggled the needle under the skin so much that my tissue was damaged and I was in excruciating pain for days. He was also the only injection doctor that warned me ahead of time that I would need to ice the injection site as if he knew he was going to cause more damage than any other doctor. If I did not know the exact cause of the damage, I would have been in the ER that night as the pain was so bad. He is a far worse doctor than any other doctor I've had before and will never see him again, even if he was the only option. Afterwards when I complained, he blamed me and said I was asking for it. Totally unprofessional. I contacted their "Office of Patient Experience," but all I got was a canned letter saying they trust their doctor and think everything was fine. It was not fine, I can still feel the effects of Dr. D'Souza's ineptitude at the injection site weeks later, and I can't recommend Mayo anymore after this awful experience.
Mayo use to be a leading hospital. No longer. Now its a place you go to be used as test subject for medical experiments. Read terms of service, any and all records they can use however they wish and you can't stop it. Additionally, their own staff admit they don't understand nor have the ability to read their notes. (It seems to be a lack of unity care) The IT support can't log nor track down when and who accesses your chart for any reason. Need a medication refill that isn't being provided by their pharmacy, you had better call at least a week ahead of time, perhaps a month just to be safe as it will take them 72 hours to respond to any message. Don't get me wrong, I am not bashing the doctors, they do seem to care this review is more of the overall support system, that is nothing less than unlawful. Don't be shocked if over the next 2-3 years you don't start to see a 5,000% increase in malpractice and wrongful death suits.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
