List of MIchael J. Stuart's Reviews
Dr. Stuart has been working with me for a little under two years now. He fully reconstructed both of my legs and has allowed me to go back to full activity. I am forever grateful for the amazing experience Dr. Stuart has allowed me to have. When working with Dr. Stuart he treats you as a friend not as a patient, although he probably sees over 30 people a day and only sees us once a month he still acts like he sees me everyday and knows my dogs middle name. I absolutely adore Dr. Stuart.
I met with Dr. Stuart this spring to seek a second opinion on knee treatment. I had been following a conservative treatment approach to a lingering knee injury that had robbed me of my active lifestyle. Dr. Stuart demonstrated excellent knowledge of my pre and post-accident condition and clearly stated my alternatives. He was very straightforward and easy to understand. I elected to transfer care to him and agreed to a partial knee replacement. He also allowed me to become as active as I could tolerate prior to surgery, which basically set me free from what had been a downward spiral. Surgery went like clockwork, and I was provided with excellent guidance from Dr. Stuart and his staff on post-surgery activities. I am making a good recovery and am optimistic about returning to an active lifestyle.
Dr. Stuart is the very best of the best when it comes to surgeons. I saw him for a 2nd opinion post 2 previous surgeries to remove an infection in my knee and not being able to walk without excruciating pain. He scheduled me within days for a partial knee to remove the infection that had attacked my bone because it was not totally removed. I was told by previous Dr. that 6 weeks of infusion treatment was all I could have. The Mayo infusion team proved that was false. I had 6 more weeks of infusion therapy followed by a total knee. Dr. Stuart is meticulous, thorough, kind and approachable with questions and concerns. He is a gifted surgeon with a notable bedside manner. I am walking and have resumed most of my usual activities pain free after 3 months. I would not have this positive outcome without Dr. Stuart’s expertise. He was heaven sent and I am so blessed. Dr Stuart is praised by his peers and patients and he deserves to be! Forever grateful!
When I first began having acute lateral pain, I saw multiple doctors looking for a diagnosis. No one could figure out why my pain level was as high as it was. I was placed in full immobilization and put on crutches. After a doc at a major university was unable to diagnose following an MRI, he suggested exploratory surgery. I requested an appointment with Dr. Stuart. I was able to see him very quickly. He sat down with me and reviewed my MRI. He pointed to a very subtle dark area which showed nerve impingement. He prescribed a nerve block and took me off crutches/bracing immediately. After months of looking for answers, I got it in ten minuted.
This Place is amazing. Everyone was very helpful. Dr. Stuart spent time explaining everything CLEARLY to me and was very caring. There wasn't much that could be done with my knees but he did what he could in giving me shots in the knee area to relieve some of the pain. He is a great Dr.
Dr. Stuart takes a personal interest in his patients. He made hospital calls himself everyday I was in hospital. His technique for complete knee replacement was final decision for me. Post op I have done exceptionally well.
I had been to two other doctors including one who had done a bone graft and was expected to do another surgery but they couldn't figure out the problem. At our wits end we went to Mayo clinic and were put into the care of Dr. Stuart. Immediately we were impressed with the entire clinic and Dr. Stuart immediately found the problem without an MRI and when the MRI was taken it was exactly what he had diagnosed. I went through 2 more surgeries with him and after two years I could not be happier with my knee. I would recommend him to anyone who needed sports medicine of any kind.
I previously had a pcl replaced but 8 years later I was having pain in the same knee. I went to another dr and he said he couldn't figure out what was wrong even though he did a bone graft and saw the inside of my knee. We got tired of going to him and him not being able to figure out what the problem was. Dr. Stuart's office, staff and Dr. Stuart himself were very welcoming and we felt as if they were there for us. Dr. Stuart took one look at my knee, did a little twisting and told us I was missing a pcl and another ligament. When we took the MRI he was exactly right. How could a guy who had never see my previous MRIs or anything figure this out? He's just amazing. I've sent friends to see him and told them it was worth the longer drive to get amazing care. After surgery he took the time to come up to my room and check on me every day i was in the hospital. When I have questions now as I rehab, his staff is always there whether on the phone or in email, to answer my questions and I never feel as if I'm bothering anyone. Dr. Stuart is one of the best orthopedic surgeons in the state of MN if not the country. If anyone has knee pain take the time, even if it is a longer drive, to go to Mayo Clinic and see Dr. Stuart. He has made my way of life much better and he has been very optimistic that I will be back on the field soon and my knee will be better than ever.
Dr. Stuart successfully operated on my knee. The previous surgeon wasn't successful. No more research needed on Dr. Stuart. He is one of the best. Trust me. I did the research. My other ortho doc wasted my time money and most importantly my quality of life for nearly a year. Save the time money and hassle and just go see Dr. Stuart.
After a botched surgery he properly fixed the problem. I was back running, working out and most importantly walking in less than a week. Comes highly recommended and is up to date on best practices. Actually he sets best practices.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
