The best, on take care of Patience .
Top notch. Very through, listens to my concerns and answers all questions clearly. He is knowledgeable about and discusses new and alternate tests, therapies, options, pros & cons, etc. I know I'm in good hands. So far, so good! I was diagnosed in 2010, got stem cell transplant in 2014 when MM was 35% of bone marrow. Still going strong. All my current blood work shows "still in complete remission". My meds: Revlimid, started at 25mg pills, now 15mg, and Dex, started at 40mg/wk, now 8mg/wk. (everyone has different needs, this is what works for me) Check with Mayo Billing for find help with co-pays - there are multiple organizations that give $11K/yr grants to help. Drug companies may even give it to you free if you call asking for financial help.
He is excellent in every way. I am completely confident in his evaluations and recommendations. He has been a huge help to myself and my whole family with our rare and inherited liver disease hATTR amyloids. I owe him every he is a hero to me.
Dr. GERTZ IS A LIFE SAVER!!!
We are not patients of Dr. Gertz, but the recipients of some of his help and generosity. He gave my husband and I a consultation of sorts on the way to the airport after a packed series of his speaking engagements in Portland. Ive been getting emails from members of his audience--survivors of Multiple Myeloma and Waldenstrom Macroglobulinemia, and people who were helped by his advice, so I know that he wowed the most jaded of us. This is a quote from one of the emails from a woman who has been going to hear doctors talk for the last 9 years: I take great comfort in the fact that he's involved in MM patient care. By far, he would be the groups choice for second opinions. Dr. G, why cant you move to Portland? He was brilliant, helpful, funny, clear, and everything he said made sense and gave us a glimmer of his vast knowledge of blood cancer issues. As a doctor and as a human being, we thought Dr. Gertz was pretty special!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
