In November of 2018, I had a complicated orthopedic surgery with Dr Norman Turner using his exceptional skill and knowledge which gave me an end to the pain and frustration I have had most of my life .The surgery was so successful even he was thrilled and surprised at how quickly I healed. I strongly recommend Dr. turner and the great team at Mayo Hospital . My experience was wonderful !

Compassionate intelligent and extremely humble. Dr Turner made it possible for me to walk again — this alone, no short feat. I travelled around the US interviewing surgeons in this particular field and would commend none other over Dr Turner. Highest recommendation possible.

I came to Mayo Clinic in the fall of 2013 after multiple and unsuccessful surgeries and treatments with a Minneapolis DPM who left me with a serious bone infection in my left foot. Dr. Turner graciously accepted the task of fixing another surgeon's shortcomings. The infection required 2 surgeries, the first to remove broken pins, stripped screws and debridement of dead bone and the second to rebuild my foot with bone from my hip. It was a long, miserable, scary process but Dr. Turner and the team of infectious disease doctors at Mayo made me feel safe and thanks to them, I didn't lose my foot. I have also undergone thyroid/parathyroid and gall bladder surgeries there with the same amazing outcomes. I have had experiences with several different departments and have never met a doctor who wasn't empathetic and thorough. My advice to anyone who has a serious problem is to go straight to Mayo Clinic for treatment. The place is medical magic.

I came to Mayo Clinic with broken hardware and a long standing bone infection. My team could not have been better (with the exception of a know-it-all resident). I went through two surgeries with Dr. Turner, the first to clean out the infection and the second to rebuild my foot using bone from my hip. It was a long, difficult process but he was able to patch me up and I am recovering nicely. I am indebted to him....he, and the infectious disease doctors at Mayo gave me my life back. Mayo is an amazing place....the doctors know what they are doing, they care about you, and they give you hope.

I had ankle fusion that was performed by Dr. Turner and the outcome has been wonderful - no pain and I am walking normal. HIs bedside manner and care are outstanding. He was able to help me after several doctors could not.

Dr. Turner is AWESOME!I had seen several specialists for my ankle problem. When I met Dr. Turner, he said, "all those other surgeons may want to do it that way-but I will just have to tear it all out and do it the RIGHT way"...That is when I knew I had found my surgeon. His confidence really impressed me! Dr. Turner is very good!

Dr. Norm Turner was able to diagnosis the issue with my foot after an unsuccessful surgery at another hospital. The procedure was well explained to me, recovery progressed as outlined and I enjoyed a full recovery. Dr. Turned cared about my foot health and was dedicated to my recovery.

Looking for a second opinion trying to avoid ankle fusion Dr. Turner looked me straight in the eye and called me dumb right in front of my parents. I'm almost 21 and they were there for support and to gain knowledge as a fusion is a big ordeal. Yes, I caused my trauma on a dirtbike but for a doctor to look at me and tell me my hobbies are ridiculous and tell me how dumb I am for owning a motocross bike was over the top. In the end he was very knowledgeable but after finding out it was caused on a motorcycle he immediately changed tones and acted like he couldn't care less about me as a patient anymore.
