Don’t waste your time- this man does not want to help others. He was extremely dismissive of me my entire visit and talked about himself most of the time. I have a chronic illness that does not have a test or lab for confirmation. Mayo Clinic was my only hope and this was a terrible introduction. The specialists I saw were great and I eventually left with my diagnosis. He is the most arrogant person I’ve ever met and should NOT be seeing patients face to face, or at all in my opinion. He was rude, insensitive, condescending, and self centered. He’ll make SURE you know by the end of the visit that he’s an astronaut and that he wrote a book. The ONLY positive thing I can say is that he did a thorough job of ordering specialist referrals, labs, tests, etc. but it came with the caviat of, “IF we even find anything, it will show up here.” Mayo Clinic as a whole is absolutely wonderful and I would recommend it to everyone. Just do yourself a favor and don’t make an appointment with this man.

Worst experience I’ve ever had in my life. Do not waste your time seeing this man. He is arrogant, insensitive, condescending, and self centered. I was APPALLED by the way I was treated, especially because he works for Mayo Clinic. He dismissed me as suffering from a nationwide epidemic of obesity, even though I had a bag full of medical records and detailed notes I made for myself to prove that there was more going on than just being overweight. I should note that at the time was maybe 15-20 pounds overweight at the most. The only positive thing I can say is that he did a thorough job of ordering specialist referrals, labs, tests, etc. Immediately after he did that, however, he said, “IF we even find anything, it will show up here.” I went to Mayo Clinic specifically for a 2nd opinion for ME/CFS. There IS no test or lab for confirmation. He made me want to cancel the rest of my appointments and go home. I didn’t make a 5 hour trip to be stomped on and scoffed at by a PHYSICIAN for absolutely no reason. I stayed and the rest of my experience was absolutely wonderful, I would recommend Mayo Clinic as a whole to anyone and everyone. I left with my final diagnosis of ME/CFS. To anyone out there, especially with chronic illness- this is a message to you. Do not give up, do not let physicians like this put you down. Continue to advocate for yourselves and persist. I strongly advise against making an appointment with this man. He is a bad apple in the physician community.
