Saved my life. Amazing doctor with a wealth of knowledge, experience, and compassion.

I was diagnosed with a schwannoma about three years ago. I was followed closely with periodic MRIs with the best neurosurgeon in New York City. The neurosurgeon was Fairly confident that the tumor was benign and did not want to rush me to surgery and have the risk of postop complications. He also suggested that if surgery was necessary sometime in the future that I should go to the mayo clinic and he referred me to Dr. Robert Spinner. I am so grateful that I followed this doctors advice. Dr. Spinner and his team performed the surgery in late April and I’ve been progressing ever since and was without pain 24 hours after my surgery. I was absolutely amazed at the care I received and the collaboration between all members of the healthcare team.

I spent 4 years in therapy and have marked atrophy and sentenced to the rest of my life with little to no use of my arm. My therapist sent me there. I was told l was not that bad. Wasted time and money in traveling there.

Worst doctor have ever seen. I was demonized for wanting to get rid of pain in 3 fingers and thumb. He is arrogant and dismisses patient concerns.

He didn't follow threw post-op. Have never been able to make contact with Dr. SPINNER. There were post-op complications that were never addressed and still have problems to this day. Continue to have the same problems as prior to surgery.

If Rob Spinner can't help you he will make sure no one else will either. He is king in the neuro/ortho world and others assume if he is done with you they should be too. If you don't fit perfectly into the Mayo Clinic boxes that they have built you are labeled and literally left to rot. There are many other physicians that work with Spinner who are talented but they work under his thumb like they don't deserve the credit of their training. How and other MD would agree to practice like that is unbelievable. Those others are on his brachial plexus team, A. Shin, A. Bishop... both stood by like residents or students and let him lead. He is not God but truly believes that he is. There are other specialists in the country that deal with these injuries and their sequelae. Don't subject yourself to Dr. Spinners abuse!

Dr. Spinner performed selective peripheral denervation surgery on me. The surgery successfully treated my symptoms. He is an amazing surgeon and I couldn't be happier! He is a wonderful person and I enjoyed interacting with him throughout the entire process.

Dr. Spinner is amazing! He is an extremely skilled surgeon and my surgery was successful. I really enjoyed my interactions with him and I saw him first thing in the morning after my surgery. He completely changed my life. I owe him so much!

I suffered for nearly 6 years with cervical dystonia and was to the point of giving up and accepting I would live in pain the rest of my life when I found out about Dr. Spinner. Incredible is the first word thar springs to mind. He and his team knew and understand what I was dealing with constantly. When I awoke from surgery, that horrible, gnawing, wrenching pain was gone and I could look straight ahead for the first time in years. Dr. Spinner gave me my life back! He is exceptionally intelligent, kind, and professional. He, and the entire Mayo team, are not the gold standard...they are platinum. Mayo is a wonderful place and should be emulated by every healthcare system in the country.
